It's a messaging problem and social-epistemic. People are acquiring bad beliefs through trust in social networks that aren't well-structured for vetting facts.
Your problem is that you’re incapable of grasping the fact that the nation’s medical leadership structure isn’t well-structured for vetting facts.

It's not just the nation. The UK uses the vaccine, European countries use the vaccine. Israel uses the vaccine.
Have you worked in a lab, Flats? Do you know how hard it is to get 5 people to agree on anything?
You think Fauci can call me on a red phone and get me and everybody else to submit to the cover-up plan?

You’re straw manning again. I’ve said nothing about a “cover-up plan”, I’m simply explaining to you that when the authorities get a lot of stuff very wrong on an issue, they lose credibility. That seems self-evident to me and I suspect most people, but you’re damned determined to blame it on anybody BUT the people responsible. People in positions of power lied, they exaggerated and they claimed to know things they didn’t. That has consequences.

I agree - and one of the consequences is people widely putting their trust in even less trustworthy sources and move from having reasonable skepticism to unreasonable skepticism.
E.g. The CT that was fairly prevalent for a time among African Americans about HIV being engineered by government to harm their community. They had actually been harmed by systemic and even legit conspiratorial action and then adopted beliefs that further harmed them by being reluctant to take up treatments that had good evidence (and continue to have).

Vaccination is old, as is the anti-vaxx playbook.
Here are some vaccine-contrarian docs you'll recognize from your anti-vaxx circles today.

I don’t know the method used but the deadly covid protocols were clearly communicated to physicians and hospitals.
Withholding and forbidding prescribing HCQ & IVM (all the way to the pharmacies in refusing to fill from the doctors who bucked the protocol and wrote the scripts), using Remdesiver, ventilators, etc.
You’re being intellectually dishonest to diminish the fact that the orders were given and the threats of retaliation are in fact the reality of what transpired.

Flats, ask her if vaccination played a part in eradicating Small Pox. See what she says.

I’ve never been anti-vax in my life. I didn’t hesitate to follow every vaccine schedule for all 3 of my kids. I thought parents were crazy for questioning them and now I deeply regret getting them every shot they pushed.
The lies and deception used to push the covid social experiment injection made me question everything I’d been told and thankfully that extra research opened my eyes about the harms I had always dismissed as a conspiracy theory.
This saved my girls from getting the HPV shot as well. I’ve never got a flu shot bc I’m never sick but I definitely wouldn’t get it now bc I’ll never unsee all the evi that has been revealed the past 2-3 yrs.

Me and mine are safe. The lies your industry told not only hurt but irreparably destroyed y’all’s reputation for at least another generation.

This pandemic is easy for antivaxxers to virtue-signal off of. If you're young and healthy your beliefs are cheap.
But if this had been a disease that killed kids instead of elderly or had a case fatality rate 10x what it does, people wouldn't tolerate silly shite like posting every death to suggest vaccination harm and to say things like you do about catching vaccine particles from people and that nurses giving vaccines should stand trial for war crimes.
In this pandemic, that kind of talk is relatively cheap, and of course it's dumb, but it still does harm.

I've spent a LOT of time in ER for my wife over the past week. I guess I need to pay more attention.

He will run in circles to avoid acknowledging to himself that he was wrong and was lied to by the people and systems he believed in.
Presented with video evidence from the very people responsible for managing the pandemic that they lied, he can’t accept it so he will post blather about anti vax this and messaging that.
Cognitive dissonance is a bitch.

This pandemic is easy for antivaxxers to virtue-signal off of.
Not a rhetorical question, I've not seen data on effectiveness vs XBB.1.5, or BQ.1/BQ.1.1.
But I ask, because earlier today I heard a US government radio commercial encouraging even those who've been recently infected to get a booster.
THAT seems like the kind of thing an antivaxxer could virtue-signal off of

There are people skeptical of this vaccine who've never questioned the efficacy or safety of other vaccines.
Nobody is disputing this, the point is that those people are getting most/all of their information from people who DO have a long history of anti-vaccine rhetoric. This was an opportunity for such people to attract more people to their “camp”, so to speak. And it’s working too, as rates of long-standing vaccination are declining and we’re already seeing upticks in diseases such as measles as a result.
