Do you have anything to comment on the substance of the video, or are you just going to be your usual self?

It doesn't matter, it states the "people", which matches up with "We the People"

Lol damn. A 7 minute 33 second video laying out essentially one's entire view of the Second Amendment is extreme??

The following is why we have a 2nd Amendment
From Federalist Paper 46 written my Madison
Extravagant as the supposition is, let it however be made.
Let a regular army, fully equal to the resources of the country, be formed; and let it be entirely at the devotion of the federal government; still it would not be going too far to say, that the State governments, with the people on their side, would be able to repel the danger.
The highest number to which, according to the best computation, a standing army can be carried in any country, does not exceed one hundredth part of the whole number of souls; or one twenty-fifth part of the number able to bear arms. This proportion would not yield, in the United States, an army of more than twenty-five or thirty thousand men.
To these would be opposed a militia amounting to near half a million of citizens with arms in their hands, officered by men chosen from among themselves, fighting for their common liberties, and united and conducted by governments possessing their affections and confidence.
It may well be doubted, whether a militia thus circumstanced could ever be conquered by such a proportion of regular troops.
Those who are best acquainted with the last successful resistance of this country against the British arms, will be most inclined to deny the possibility of it.
Besides the advantage of being armed, which the Americans possess over the people of almost every other nation, the existence of subordinate governments, to which the people are attached, and by which the militia officers are appointed, forms a barrier against the enterprises of ambition, more insurmountable than any which a simple government of any form can admit of.
Notwithstanding the military establishments in the several kingdoms of Europe, which are carried as far as the public resources will bear, the governments are afraid to trust the people with arms. And it is not certain, that with this aid alone they would not be able to shake off their yokes. But were the people to possess the additional advantages of local governments chosen by themselves, who could collect the national will and direct the national force, and of officers appointed out of the militia, by these governments, and attached both to them and to the militia, it may be affirmed with the greatest assurance, that the throne of every tyranny in Europe would be speedily overturned in spite of the legions which surround it

It's the title of the video...
You're jumping the gun. Just watch, then tell me what you think.
ETA:
I honestly didn't realize the pun until I hit send.

And then they came for texridder, but he 'didn't want to go any extremes or nothing'.

I did....bad title (the video) but good info.
The problem is the rewriting of history and definitions of words and what the #1 reason for the 2nd amendment was; protection against the Government.
IMO the 2nd amendment is unlimited IF you're a responsible gun owner and if I have to define that or explain it, then you're (not you specifically) probably not one.

There is no "but" with regards to the second amendment. If people don't realize that now then they must be retarded.
I'm all pro2A,
There's already "buts" to the 2A now. Gun free zones are a "but". Limited magazines are a "but". Background checks are a "but". Many more "buts".
Who's retarded?

Well, when dealing with people who are too stupid to know the meaning of "shall not be infringed."...

Its not just your right to own a weapon and know how to use it. Its your responsibility.

... I like to utilize the first amendment most because I love love love talking to and about beautiful women. I'm glad I have the freedom to do that. The second amendment helps me keep that first right from being taken by evil government

Just watched it. Thanks ....
.... a good video like that deserves a better subject line friend. One that will encourage others to actually watch it without need for explanation. Especially when it come to 2A rights because it is one of those topics where there are no “ifs, ands or buts.”
There are too many buts in today’s conversations and I get that the video started out that way buuuuuut it was easy to take the subject line out of context with the absence of voice inflection and facial expression.
The guy does a good job explaining though. Thanks for sharing.

The second amendment is so regular citizens have the same weapons as our own military in case we have to have a Government correction if freedom is ever threatened or Government gets too big...
Maybe in theory, but when the cost of military weapons hit six figures, didn't that render your point moot? I mean, I may have the right to own a nuke, but where will I come up with that kind of coin?

I accept that and argued with my wife about the same. Thanks for reinforcing her side. I am told I am stubborn.

I was just using the title of the video.
I appreciate the advice.

I have been gathering information on my GGGGGG Grandfather the past few months. He and his son (my GGGGG Grandfather) were a minutemen in Suffield, CT when the news of the Battle of Lexington was received. He was ordered to march to Lexington. He gathered his weapon, his cartridge pouch, his bedroll, his water and his rations for a few days and was marching to engage the British there. This equipment would be in the 40-50 pound range. When they reached Marlboro, MA on April 20, 1775 they received orders that the fighting was basically over and they returned home after 9 days. This is a good description of what the citizen soldier was and what the militia was at the time. This is who Admiral Yamamoto was talking about in his famous speech after the attack of Pearl Harbor.

Usually when people get to the "but..." in this discussion I get pissed, glad this wasn't the case.
