Don't fret. Once he gets in the real world, paying taxes, rent or mortgage, car notes, etc., all this will change. When he starts to express conservative ideals, just tell him what a wonderful thing you have discovered.

I am hoping a lot of these "cut him off" comments are in jest.

Mine was very serious, but admittedly has more to do with it being his fifth year of undergrad than his political opinions.

Avoiding taxes is legal, and American as apple pie. Evading taxes is a crime. If you think you got the goods on Google evading taxes, you can become an incredibly, incredibly rich man, showing your evidence to the right people. If you don't like Google avoiding all the taxes they can, call your legislators.

here i have covered this already, stop embarrassing yourself commie
not this stupid arse shite again. do you pay any attention to policies or just parrot talking points like the jagoff cucks here?

he was conservative on the majority of his policies and morso than reagan.

so trump was liberal on

border
schools
taxes
regulations
trade
groomers in schools
transgenders in military
abortion
healthcare
foreign wars
jobs
energy
faux climate science
2nd amendment
SCOTUS judges,
NATO
military
etc
etc
etc

you commies are as delusional and mentally ill as a TRANSGENDER whackjob if they think trump was a majority moderate or libtard.

It's increasingly difficult to try and have a nuanced discussion with so many folks letting political affiliations filter every piece of information they hear/read. Can we just cut the red/blue shite and talk about ideas to make our economy better?

It all seems like a microcosm of our broken government to me, liberal people and conservative people don't have these discussions, nor do our elected officials.

This isn't the gem you think it is.

So did Reagan.

Your responses on this page are as scatter-brained and non-sequitur as they come.

[non-sequitur -- something said that, because of its apparent lack of meaning relative to what preceded it, seems absurd to the point of being humorous or confusing. ]

Let’s see if that holds after he starts working and realizes how much he loses in taxes to fricking freeloaders.

People say that but it hasn't changed the perspective of athletes, celebrities, F500 CEO's, etc... They make a ton of cash and taxed like crazy and still tote the bottom line. There are very few that are exceptions.

The virtue to highly paid liberals is worth the hassle as long as they are bringing in big bucks.

The corporation would just have to consider something like 25% of executive payroll as revenue and pay taxes on it.

So, extra costs for Jane Consumer either way...

You do understand that people have been compensating "executives" (I'm sure your definition will be super flexible) with non cash compensation like stock options for as long as all of us have been alive?

Cue the want to tax unrealized gains (money that doesn't actually exist yet.)

So what's your solution to your son's beliefs?

We are going to do what we have always done when we think one of our kids are making bad decisions.
I am going to continue to talk to him about the reality of socialism, I sent him several studies about what socialism did to Venezuela where 97% of the population lives in poverty. He thinks we will all be living the best life, in the same home we live in now, driving the same cars we do now, eating the same food we do now, etc.

What we will not do is cut off his tuition, which is already paid through graduation and his rent. He pays for everything else, food, entertainment, car insurance and maintenance.

When he graduates with this high paying job, he will not be living in the same town as we do, he will get his own apartment, pay his own bills, and get an idea of what the real world is like. I hope this will open his eyes.

There is a difference between high earners being taxed and entry level people.

High earners like a Willie Nelson or Mike Tyson tend to not realize how fricked they are until way down the line.

Entry level employees expect their paycheck to be their paycheck and not lose 1/3 or more to taxes.

And as a business owner, what do you do when your cost of business increases? Do you and your family skip meals, or do your kids have to wear last year's school clothes? Do you sell your car and ride the bus to work? Or do you charge your customers more for your product to cover the additional cost? Does your bottom line give a damn if the additional cost is because of the cost of raw materials or the government stealing more of your money?

Corp tax rate was 35% like 5 years ago. I'm not talking about disenfranchising businesses, I'm saying we roll all that back to when our economy was functioning and try to limit the amount of money companies can hide. The last bit because it's just gotten out of hand in todays era. This wasn't as rampant prior to the 1980's and the business owners still put food on the table.

I could pay 35% on my taxable revenue and still be doing well. After normal deductions it aint much. Typically speaking, a company making $3.5M in Revenue pays taxes on around $600,000 in revenue. It's not going to break the bank for small business and it will help a lot for giant ones.

ETA: Again, just one aspect of a much larger whole. a vast amount of Government programs should be rolled back, several departments need to be chopped up, flipping to flat tax and canning the IRS would solve much of a lot of it too. There's a lot of ways to skin this cat
