THAT is not the same thing, unless he "fricked them both up" simply by having a different political ideology than you (with no effect on the business). If he can't run the business then that's something else entirely and you're full within your rights to create a different succession plan.

He’s probably queer and will drop that bombshell on you soon!

Good luck and buy him listening for Christmas!

I also suggest cutting him off financially and see how socialist he really is!

Give him money to go to Cuba for Spring Break. But Jordan Peterson has been saying that today's universities are the biggest threat to democracy in the world today. And look at the numbers of college aged kids who voted for Obama the first time, then abandoned him the second election.

this term you clearly don’t understand.

NPC just denotes no free will b/c of indoctrination, causing them to repeat what they're told.

Just because the term originated to insult Leftists doesn't mean it only applies to them

Creating drones to believe and repeat the (political, in this case) phrases you require is literally an NPC.

He is in his 5th year at Bama and this year he has been coming home talking about how wonderful socialism is and that no one deserves to have millions and millions of dollars "Who needs that much money". I about came out of my skin!! I tried to talk to him, but it's just you see on TV, completely unreasonable.

Maybe you should let him pay his own way to college. Stop supporting him, and let him work. He will learn quickly, that the 20-30% coming off his paycheck going straight to government who then sends that over to Ukraine or sends it to BLM might be better served if he kept more of his own money.

I am hoping a lot of these "cut him off" comments are in jest. People legit want their kids to be NPCs and avoid any self development or realization. That's the mentality of a cult and you only create drones with cults.

I disagree. He's a college aged adult that possibly has had most of life handed to him. Tough love is a hard thing to do, but necessary at times.

I'm coming around to the idea that hard core socialism is a mental virus.

He's in his 20's, no one should be paying his bills.

And parents wonder why kids get soft and entitled.

My Bama daughter protested Trump when she was going there. She made the news protesting.

Now, she's getting married to her Bama boyfriend and they've bought a house. The house is in a very conservative suburb of Dallas.

She hated the COVID lockdowns. She thinks it's crazy our involvement with Ukraine.

She now says she'd vote for Trump.

She's still crazy liberal with LGBTQ stuff, but she's moving in the right direction.

My Aggie son went liberal in college and went conservative during COVID.

My other daughter, who went to community college in California and finished her college career at liberal Sonoma State, never went liberal. I think living at home and going to community college kept her grounded

This entire post reinforces you don’t understand what the term means. Pirate king, one of the unquestionably dumbest people on this board, has demonstrated in this thread he has a better understanding of it than you.

OP cutting his son off financially is him not supporting decisions his actions he disagrees with. He’s not telling his son how to think, he’s choosing not to support his way of thinking. You undoubtedly are one of those that don’t understand the difference between boycotting and cancel culture as well.

Absolutely.

Paying one's own bills is the best life lesson you can have. But keep the kid on the payroll, you get entitlement.

We didn't push our conservative beliefs on our children at all. We raised them in a conservative home with conservative values, we taught them to be responsible for their own actions, we taught them that life can be difficult, but with hard work and perseverance this great country provides you the opportunity to be successful. He was so excited to cast his first time vote for Donald Trump in the primaries!

I have a 26 year old daughter that 100% bought into the George Floyd crapola.

I think what has really shocked me over the past 10-15 years is how much the Gaslight Media and academia work together to re-enforce the cultural Marxist indoctrination/messaging. The combination of mass media and academia is extremely effective at capturing the minds of the weak minded and gullible Americans.

In fact, paying for the kids in college just reinforces entitlement.

That's a monster someone created. This person just needs life lessons.

It’s just kids in the world. Most are idealistic bc they have never dealt with world. Theories are great. Reality is different. I was one who was liberal for a long time to finally switch gears. The shite doesn’t work. You vote your way into socialism and have to fight your way out. By then it’s too late.

There is a woman who begs for money on the 190 off-ramp in Mandeville. I dont think she is homeless, but begging is how she supports herself. We drive past her a few months ago and my six year old says, ‘there’s that lazy woman wanting money. Probably stinking too.” I tried not to laugh, but I know she has heard me say those things seemingly to myself over time.

Close friends had same thing. Both conservative, not ultra though. Daughter went to a Catholic high school, seemed normal. Dated guys. Did well enough to get a full ride to Bama (they seem to be very generous with scholarships). She got angrier and angrier as she progressed in years. Numerous ugly fights with parents over ideology. Graduated as a full blown liberal and married a girl last year.
Indoctrination is real…even in the Deep South institutions.

One of my 4 kids did that. She is a CS major and is making very good money working for a large corporation. She is coming around, as she sees how much in taxes she pays now, vs what she paid while in college.

Every time Congress passes a spending bill, I always ask my kids, "Where do you think that money is going?" My liberal daughter called me up recently complaining about the money we send to Ukraine, and the military industrial complex. She still kind of thinks that the money should go to the homeless, but she went to high school in Portland and college in Eugene, and isn't stupid... She just doesn't want to be a full blown conservative, yet, but hasn't figured out how to direct billions of dollars towards people who need help without wasting it on people who game the system.
