I think JBird is probably a decent guy but he's notorious for the drive by worthless posts that add nothing to the discussion

I Say That America's 2 Biggest External Enemies

It is simpler than that

Internal Merica = DEBT (not border, guns, abortion, blah, blah, blah)

External Merica = REDS (Russia + China + Yankee Korea + Desert)

Everything else is a distraction from dealing with these 2 issues.

Sowell concern is long term application (that is logical). He may not like it, but he also understands that carrying a big stick is necessary at times.

Still, it’s not like he is your boy.

Nice try though.

Our biggest enemy overall is within and it’s the ever growing dependent class

My arguments about tariffs are based in the academic work of Friedman and Sowell (not Sowell's comments today )

I've been promoting their work on here for, oh, 19 years? There was once a time where their work was celebrated and not controversial, but that ended around 2016 when substantive talking points and economic leftism became preferred by so many who used to love promoting the opposite economics of Friedman/Sowell.

I remained consistent and without hypocrisy, I might add.

To be fair the topic in his op does specify external enemies

1. China is obvious

2. Globalized West - we still have no fricking clue what he's talking about

If I ask 10 people to define it, I'll get 10 different answers.

It could mean an almost infinite permutation of things depending on who you ask

Can you define it?

2) The Globalized West

It hasn't been readily apparent that many of our "allies" were in FACT allies for a while but more importantly, MANY of them are clearly on a road AWAY from shared values.

I realize European nations ever had the 1st Amendment, but, they(Aussies included) have gone completely off the fricking rails.

That, plus the fact that in 50 years, they won't even LOOK like nations with a shared history with us, and there are some serious problems on the horizon.

We may have our own immigration issues, but our largest contingent of immigrants are hispancs who are still western culture. We aren't being deluged by Islam along with other shite N. African cultures in anything remotely similar to what's happening to Europe
