I'm just wondering if anybody still thinks my assessment was a little too harsh?

Wow that was a really hot take! Props to you for getting this right because who else could have predicted that?

Don't beat yourself up too bad. Many of us voted for those scumbags. But, the alternative was Obama/Biden.

The great thing about Obama winning in 2012 was that it gave us Donald Trump in 2016 (and the fruits of that are really beginning to show now).

That ticket should have been reversed, as Edwards was a seemingly successful Governor of NC at the time with more moderate views than John Kerry. I think too many of the Democrat primary voters fawned over Kerry's looks, and I think the strategy at the time was to pin a "real war hero" vs. GW Bush.

Looking at say...post 1930 Presidential tickets (just because hell if there's much legit info about folks from the 1800s and prior), I'd say the two biggest clown tickets have to be, in no particular order because I can't decide:

Mondale/Ferraro in 1984
Harris/Waltz in 2024

Harris/Waltz was at least a Democrat Party scramble to insert something after the party leaders finally admitted, thanks to the media FINALLY catching on and saying something, that Joe Biden's brain was literally mashed potatoes. Harris may have been a horrible candidate to have at the top of the ticket, but the party bosses had to look long-term. If they get Biden to step down, but then put in a white male like Newsome over the "natural progression" of the VP, who is black and female, moving into that slot, then what would that do to a voter base they count on so heavily?

Mondale/Ferrero on the other hand was an real ticket with an actual Democrat Primary. Almost as if no one else on the Dem side was interested because they knew Reagan had the vast majority of America in his corner. The OG MAGA President.

The way Romney governed Utah, and the way he carried himself at that time, definitely gave off Reagan vibes. He wasn't my first or second choice in the '08 or '12 GOP primaries, but I still thought he could make a good President if given the chance and continuing what he did in Utah.

But losing in 2016, especially to Donald Trump ultimately, changed him, in my opinion. And not for the better. He became very bitter and eaten up with Trump Derangement Syndrome, which is a label I very rarely use because overall I don't care for many of Trump's antics myself, but Romney definitely has TDS.

I wouldn't even call Mondale/Ferraro a clown ticket. At least they knew what a woman was.

Harris is the worst candidate to ever run for a major party, and it's not close.

They had preached and preached DEI so when it was Obvious Slow Joe was toast they had to appoint the "Black, Female" or their entire hoax would fall apart.

Then she knew none would vote for Gay Pete or The Jew Guy so she picked the buffoon because anyone else would have outshined her.

They were simply the worst. Unbelievable that any party would put up these imbeciles to run. It’s unbelievable that anyone would actually vote for them. The votes they did get were anti-Trump and not actually for them. Well, maybe a few morons did.

No. It was too reticent of an assessment.

I said they were both literally retarded. Time has proven that assertion to be unequivocally accurate.
