I know plenty of people who dumped their stocks.

Including myself, partially. It was the easiest to predict downturn in the history of inc=vestment. After the total disruption of production in the East, you had to expect at least a prolonged correction.
Now, in the case of MoC's who dumped their stocks immediately after a meeting during which they may have received insider info., that's a different story, but as far as simply predicting a crash, I don't see the wrongdoing.

there was a lot of talk on here about a crash due to supply chains being disrupted
i don't think many expected the US to shut down and force itself into a depression
it's about scale

Having predicted this obvious crash, did you take up any short positions? Easy money.

I sold most of mine as well. The market was priced to perfection and any blip would cause a correction.
I never saw this much though.
But, It is not illegal for members of congress to trade on insider information.

The dumping of the stocks based on insider info is one thing, but the buying of stock related to work from home software is what got me.

Left my stocks alone, but sold off a bunch of crypto coins in anticipation, then reinvested at what I think was close to the bottom... now riding the waves....
its like investing monopoly money...since it never really existed as cash (product of electrical costs from mining them). But the potential for tidy profits exist if you play it right.

When you place your assets into a blind trust, presumably you choose a trustee with some reasonable level of financial acumen.
Any fund manager who did NOT adjust the portfolio in advance of this OBVIOUS chain of events should be replaced, and the politician dumb-enough to have hired him should be subject to recall for abject stupidity.
Instead, the Great Unwashed want to attack the politicians who had the sense to hire competent managers.
Clown World.
