I haven’t watched news since yesterday’s shooting. Something tells me that gun control

With so many violent video games that are increasing in popularity why is that never mentioned as a root cause? These games are so eel and graphic it’s Amazing that they avoid any scrutiny.

Where have you been? Video games are attacked all the time. They have been blamed for sexism and violence many times over.
Should we ban video games because a few idiots are impressionable (Not that any recent shootings have been caused by them)? What about movies and books? There are countless more graphic movies and books than there are games.
Should we ban everything that is abused by a small minority? Music? Guns? Art? Speech?
It's obvious you don't really know what you are talking about, either. Most games, especially the majority of the popular ones, are not that graphic. There may be killing, but there is little to no blood or gore. Less than 1% of games can be considered graphic or eel (whatever that means).

Crime rates are down, consumption of these sorts of games have been increasing exponentially.
So, basically, reality is why they've escaped blame.

That is called the post hoc fallacy. You have to look at how gun homicide rates WITHIN the country changed in response to the laws.
There is not a single example anywhere in the world of homicide rates falling after a gun control law was passed.
All those European nations you cite? Their homicide rates have always been low even before their gun laws.

Because video games and guns dont cause mass shootings. Mental illness is the root cause of these shootings, nothing else.
