I’m the OP.

This post was meant as satire. I do vote blue on some issues and vote red on others. This fall i voted for a Republican candidate in a major race.

I will admit i made this most knowing i would get blasted. I’m always amazed how some seem always angry, talk more about what they hate than what they support and resort to put downs.

I’ve lived all of my life in a louisiana and i’ll never leave. I’ve voted for Republican Governors and Dem Governors. I do have close friends across the full political spectrum. I’m thinking many people who have posted on this thread don’t.

Why dont you do a cause and effect analysis to figure out why the bolded part of your quote happens in the "blue" areas, and figure out why the "red" areas do not want to be a party to the blue policies negatively impacting our communities?

You should probably move after all.

1. I assume i have to move out of the house, right? I realize i’m surrounded by people who don’t like my kind but I’ve tried to be a good boy.

You don’t have to do shite.

2. Since Louisiana is a community property state what do i get of equal value?

I think there will be smaller nation states combining several states, so likely a non issue. The good news is your property value will go up since most of the welfare class will leave to seek refuge in blue nation states. I’m sure there will be some grace period for those who choose to make other living arrangements.

3. I have really close red friends. Just because Mama and Daddy want a divorce I guess us kids have no say so because we really like living close together and we get along together. I’m talking about us red and blue friends.

Italians have friends in France. Germans have friends in Spain. You’ll be fine.

4. I love Louisiana and would hate living in any other blue state. I guess I’m back to #1. Can i still stay here and not be bullied and seen as an outcast or do i just need to move to the frigid north/northeast or to the west coast where all kinds of crazy crap happens all the time.

You can stay, but just so you are aware the crazy crap happening is due to loony liberal policies like the ones to adhere to.

I’ve read them all. Love them. The author really knows leftists and what would happen if they were given unchecked power.

You’re a Democrat, which means deep down you're an authoritarian, so I doubt this.

I haven't read the newest one yet, but it's astounding that Col. Schlichter throws out the most ridiculous scenarios and damned if the left doesn't actually make them a reality.

He says the books are a warning, not an eager fantasy.

We don't need a divorce. We just need the federal government scaled way back to it's original confines including the current constitutional amendments. That way red states can flourish under the same system of capitalism that made America wildly successful and blue states can degenerate under a system of communism and lawlessness. Federalism allows 50 different experiments where each side can try to reach their utopia with minimal federal intervention. The problem now is that the federal government has moved far beyond its original intent and the communists are using it as a hammer to force their warped policy positions down the throats of all Americans.

Stay where you want, just expect the rules to change on who votes.

Own property? You get to vote. It counts as one full vote.

Own a business employing people? It counts as two votes.

Rent an apartment? Your vote counts as a half-vote.

Going to college or live at your parents' home? Your vote is worth a quarter-vote.

Work for the government? You forfeit your right to vote.

Illegal alien? You have to go back.

The problem is that because of various arcane racist, sexist, homo/trans/other phobic, non-Progressive laws in Louisiana your wife's boyfriend is privy to 1/3 of your assets. Better to stay in Louisiana and continue to pay the bills for them, and let them move to Portland like any sensible blue-stater.

Correct.

quote:

suppose 80% of the registered florida democrats vote 2024. the house delegation will be democrats. Texas Ohio and Indiana are similar. if 80% of registered democrats in those states vote all the gop candidates lose in 2024. obama carried indiana the first go. the gary and indianapolis suburbs turned out for obama.

No… no. And I don’t think you know how Gerrymandering works.

Take Texas Congressional District 19.
There are ~772k living there, ~200k too young to vote. The district votes 70-30 in favor of the Republican for presidential. 200k voted for the Republican for House, 60k voted Dem. Of the 312k unaccounted for, 30% of that is ~90k, which, at 100% Dem turnout, would put the Dem 50k short of a victory. I didn’t account for independents, felons, illegal aliens, or the mentally unfit (wait, I included democrats, never mind), which would make your number even harder to hit. You would have to assume that almost 45% of non-voters would vote Democrat, which I can assure you, isn’t likely even in urban Lubbock. There are some districts in Texas where Republicans couldn’t win with a 100% turnout either.

But hey, keep on dreaming!

None of those things will come close to happening via the ballot box. And half of this country wants the Feds to have even more authority over you and yours than they already do.

The idea is that red states would be ran by republican officials with republican policies... not that all democrats will have to live in blue states and Republicans all in red states.

Not a split into, make it 3

Far more likely you'll be treated with tolerance and respect than if you were a red in a blue state. That is a virtual certainty.

You will be far less likely to run afoul of the cancel culture in a red state. Ask Don Lemon...
