Good. Compromising is no longer an option as that is how we got to where we currently are. It doesn't work when only one side is compromising to "pretend" to be the grownups and give in to all the trantrums from the other side.

The pro censorship angle is what surprises me the most. They would love to have the UK system.

If you had asked me in the 80s who would be pro censorship, I would have said Republicans because at that time conservative ministers were burning any book with sex. They were openly mocked by 100% of the media.

Now the media is going along with democrats on censorship. Absolutely bizarro world.

And you keep repeating this bullshite as if it’s true despite being checked from the beginning in this thread.

Conservatives want to be left the frick alone. We may be opinionated on what we think would be better for society but no one wants to force you to go to Church. I haven’t been in decades unless I have to for a wedding.

We shouldn’t FORCE teachers to have guns in their classrooms, a huge majority of them aren’t that sharp, but campuses would undoubtedly be infinitely safer if an administrator, particularly a male, would have significant training on a rifle or shotgun and have access to one in a safe in their office and at multiple locations stowed away on campus. They should have to qualify for that, and that means not every school will be qualified because of the massive amount of dumbasses that exist in the education field, but a campus should have the opportunity to defend it if they hire the right people.

On social media or in the streets?

I never see people fussing about this stuff off the internet.

Really? I do not recall scenes like this in Reagan's day.

I also never have seen Democrats act like they do now. They used to be so live and let live and respect for everyone with some sensible social issue . Now it’s goose step to our psychotic talking points or be destroyed.

They are not Democrats anymore - not in the traditional way most of us grew up knowing in this country.

They are Socialists.

I think you got that crossed up.

I meant to say "abdicated" but my coffee hadn't fully kicked in. Thanks for catching that! I've corrected it.

quote:

The problems here are the dearth of moderates willing to call out the crazy. Bill Mahr is about the only one I can think of.

There are a few. Jillian Michaels is another who comes to mind (she wasn't a prominent, vocal Leftist voice prior to flirting with the red pill, but their movement has caused her to be more vocal and prominent now that she sees the dangers of Leftist ideology and the lies behind their rhetoric).

Megyn Kelly was born and raised in a liberal family and area. Sure, she worked for FNC for a bit and while it may have given her greater exposure to conservatism she wasn't really sold on it until progressives at her kids' school began targeting her kids with trannie ideology.

Michael Rappaport was staunchly anti-Trump in the 2016 and 2020 seasons, but after just two years of Biden (starting with Biden's apparent lack of interest in anti-Israel protests in the immediate aftermath of the October 7th massacre) he was willing to put voting for Trump on the table. Viewing a Venezuelan illegal attacking an NYPD officer was another nudge. The big turning point for him was when he finally sat down and watched the Charlottesville speech ("many fine people on both sides") and realized he had been lied to by the media as it carried water for whatever dementia patient the DNC put up for election.

Those are just the ones I can think of off the top of my head, but yes Mahr has probably been the most visible one.

quote:

And most importantly, no matter how nuts their fringe is, the “moderates” STILL VOTE WITH THEM! No matter how insane their fringe position they are still voting to support it.

Because OMB. Trump is just the excuse to do so.

Part of the identity politics involved in appealing to groups via their perceived "victimization" is that there has to be an ultimate "victimizer" in there somewhere to blame. Whoever the Right elects is going to get painted with that rhetoric, for now it's Trump because he's President, he's a former President and he seems to thrive on it (which sends the progressives into fits because they believe their antics should automatically quell dissent).

As mentioned earlier, Leftists are more emotionally-centered so such critiques carry more weight with them, thus it takes longer for them to get tired of it (because they don't want to feel like they are being cruel/uncaring to the poor "victims"). This means many will be vulnerable to continued guilting for longer, but eventually their kid will be targeted for "gender fluidity" confusion, or their friend or loved one will be killed by a multi-time violent criminal who was let out on cashless bail because "systemic racism," or they'll sit down and read/watch something the progressive-advocating media has been blatantly lying to them about (realizing the media was counting on their continued ignorance) and it will force the red pill down their throat. etc.

It's not going to be an overnight shift of enough people, but it is happening and the progressives' increasing Rejection-Sensitive Dysphoria will likely continue to slowly snowball the effect. This is also why the Left has been making recent noise about lowering the voting age to 16 (along with the replacement theory of illegal immigration support). As this continues, they'll increasingly need to rely on voting fraud to stay relevant in many elections and the more they rely on that the easier it will be to spot and (hopefully) prosecute.

It's really quite simple.....

Democrats = Distribution of wealth, via massive Confiscatory Taxes. You didn't build that. LGBT rights including the imposition of government control of children. Perpetual wars tied to nation building - according to their vision of nation building (with the LGBT flag flying over our embassies Kabul-esque style) Scrapping the U.S.Constitution and embracing Marxist Socialism according to The Communist Manifesto. Government centralized at the highest level. Yep, they've gone full commie. Hummm - what did I leave out?

Trump and the MAGA Conservatives = Simple - God, Family, Country, Neighborhood. America First. Government pushed to the lowest level - State's Rights.

They (demoncrats) win? They're coming after us MAGA's. Book it.

Trump / Kirk 2025 - They took bullets meant for us

P.S. This is NOT my Father's FDR Democrat Party

I have never seen a Republican President or major party leader talk like Trump. It is appealing to some extent but it also contributed to creating the current atmosphere.

If the right had their way, every single American would attend a Christian church .. and have 3 or 4 kids.. and no one would be allowed to get or perform an abortion .. and every single college professor would have to be aligned with Christian, Conservative beliefs, lest they be “omg indoctrinating !!” The college students.. and school teachers would need to be trained to carry guns in their classrooms …

That is bullshite and you know it.

There is nor even an inkling of support for any of that exvept for abortion.

Now banning Christianity or stifling Christian expression - there are definitely liberals who support thag. See the support for banning Charlie Kirk types

Sounds like you hate your neighbors because they believe in the First Amendment, the Second Amendment, and the freedoms set forth in the introductory paragraph of the Declaration of Independence. Why are you belligerent over that?

Poor little leftist twat.
