What does putting enhanced protection at a heavily populated area have to do with republicans supposedly out of touch with young people? Stats show young people are more in favor of republican policies, greater participation in organized Christian religion, financial well being, all known qualities that associated with conservative values

Zip it, fruit

From one of your propaganda networks.

Even as crime rates fall, many Washingtonians do not feel safe walking through Union Station, shopping on U Street or living in Navy Yard. Folks are tired of seeing deodorant locked up behind plexiglass at CVS. They’re frustrated at finding their car windows smashed and seeing a teenager speed off on a rented e-bike.

Young people like to ride Amtrak and rider ship
Is up by 150% since the start of the new year. There response is to put national guard people at Union Station - as if that’s where the crime is happening in DC.

Is it your contention that law abiding citizens have a problem with law enforcement monitoring activity in public places?

Even with the uptick in ridership Amtrak has never turned a profit.

If it were not subsidized by the Citizens (Taxpayers) those choo choo trains would not exist.

And I like trains.

Young people don’t like stepping over strung out junkies sleeping in front of Union Station or passing by mentally deranged people harassing them as they wait on the platform.

I've always said never mess with the 2 things young people love, Amtrak and getting mugged.

I once got my wallet stolen on Bourbon St and I've said many times how I wished I had been mugged on an Amtrack train instead.
