Trump is not out of touch with US citizens like many politicians. He knows this is what we want and what is best for our troops. Don’t let the RINO neocons persuade you. They are not real republicans and are only on the right side of the isle for optics. Lindsey Graham is a fraud who has not delivered on anything relating to exposing government corruption.

For the only time in her sorry life, Clinton's right about something. This will be a carbon copy of Obama's Iraq fiascos. We'll be right back into Iraq, this time fighting Syrians, ISIS, and Iranian Proxy Militias .

It sucks for the Kurds, but they’ve all been fighting each other for a thousand years and will be fighting each other for thousand more. Let them kill each other off. We got enough of our own oil. The Middle East and the politicians who kept us dependent on ME oil so they can get rich and in endless war can go screw themselves.

Sorry but that is not true. That was for an earlier agreement from a month ago.

President Donald Trump said the US would begin withdrawing its troops from Syria. When commanders and allies expressed concern about the fate of the Kurds, he vowed to "devastate Turkey economically" if it attacked them and proposed a "20-mile safe zone" along the border.

Mr Trump later suspended the withdrawal, but Turkish President Recep Erdogan continued pressing for a safe zone.

In August, the US and Turkey agreed to establish one together. Kurdish officials expressed support and the YPG(Kurds) dismantled border fortifications.

Recently Turkey requested permission from Trump to be allowed to bring troops into the safe zone to take responsibility for captured IS militants there. The SDF(Kurds) is holding 12,000 men suspected of being IS members, and 70,000 women and children, many of them related to IS fighters.

Turkish leaders want a 32km (20-mile) deep "safe zone" along the Syrian side of the border clear of Kurdish fighters. They also hope to resettle up to 2 million Syrian refugees currently living in Turkey there.

Certain factions of the Kurdish forces within specifically the PKK (The banned Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK), which has fought for Kurdish autonomy in Turkey for three decades, later changing it to a demand for equal rights and Kurdish autonomy in Turkey)are rebelling against the decisions made by their leaders.

We want those trillions spent on defense so we will feel safe. But, if you give a child toys, you can expect they will want to play with those toys.

Hillary Clinton is a neocon. She has supported every American war and military action since being in public office. She is a warmonger's warmonger. And yet the very liberals who claim to be for peace and human rights vote for a despicable wench like Clinton, who would send young Americans to die if it made her a buck.

100% confirmation that Trump is right on this issue...

Bloodthirsty Neocon Bill Kristol is melting the frick down:

With the betrayal of the Kurds and Trump's full-on America First tweet storm this morning, is there a single principled internationalist, a single believer in American global leadership somewhere in the Trump Administration who will resign in protest?

As I have stated strongly before, and just to reiterate, if Turkey does anything that I, in my great and unmatched wisdom, consider to be off limits, I will totally destroy and obliterate the Economy of Turkey (I’ve done before!). They must, with Europe and others, watch over...

Perhaps we shouldn’t renominate or re-elect presidents who make “big mistakes,” especially when all the evidence is that this president is increasingly emboldened and likely to make them?

We must always have the backs of our allies, if we expect them to have our back. The Kurds were instrumental in our successful fight against ISIS in Syria. Leaving them to die is a big mistake. #TurkeyIsNotOurFriend

Lindsey Graham calls Trump’s decision “shortsighted and irresponsible” and “unnerving to its core.” Perhaps other Trump defenders could speak up? Perhaps they could stop being his defenders? Perhaps former Trump officials could say publicly how dangerous a second term would be?

Donald Trump is not a Commander-in-Chief. He makes impulsive decisions with no knowledge or deliberation. He sends military personnel into harm’s way with no backing. He blusters and then leaves our allies exposed when adversaries call his bluff or he confronts a hard phone call.

Basically the US persuaded the SDF Kurds to dismantle defensive positions that deterred Turkey, promising security guarantees in exchange. Then once the SDF Kurds became defenseless, Trump gave Erdogan the green light to invade. Hard to imagine a more sinister sequence of events.

Tommy Meyerson, a young Marine Corps officer who served in northeastern Syria, wrote this in December ‘18. It’s still true today:

“No one wants American troops to stay in Syria forever, but U.S. interests and honor demand that they stay for now.”

When Trump briefly decided the U.S. would abruptly pull out of Syria earlier this year, even then he pledged the U.S. would "devastate Turkey economically if they hit Kurds." This time around, the White House's attitude appears to be "it's not our fight."

The fact that Trump is ending the reality of Americans dying forever in a never ending war in the Middle East has fricking destroyed Bill Kristol.

Or it could be a case where overwhelming bipartisan push-back against an idea means that it's not a good one. Trump is making a catastrophic mistake here that will have ramifications for years to come.
