Career suicide. This is probably one of those situations I have told my kids about throughout life where other powerless people want others to carry their water for them.

Time for those "boycott" clauses in the NIL contracts... may already be there.

Couldn't care less. Football isn't more important.

Jury nullification has also been mentioned as a potential tool.

that doesn't even make sense. So juries in unrelated cases in random places are going to acquit people of crimes as a protest to gerrymandering? Or are you unfamiliar with what jury nullification is?

none of them will

The lack of football revenue would ripple across all sports at the University and if it's a concerted effort across several schools, could potentially impact TV revenue. The players have a tremendous amount of power...it just takes someone with leadership ability to organize a protest. Remember, players also have the choice to transfer via the portal to places not as politically charged and still receive their payday...elite players will get paid.

If it's backed by the NFL then football is fricked. If not backed by the NFL then its just noise.

Everything you stated is a big hypothetical. What if the players boycotted because they didn’t like Biden as president a few years back? People aren’t going to do it, if they do, it’s a small amount and players nobody has heard of.

I just cut a 5 figure check for season tickets this week.

Guarantee I can find plenty of other things to do with my money.

Can the players find some other way to make money?

When I saw everyone jump on the BLM scam, my interest in CFB hit the floor.

Go find out what happens when you go all Colin Kapernick. It's not going to go the way you want.

Elite players will always get paid...perhaps not at LSU, Florida, Alabama, or Tennessee, but Oregon, Michigan, Penn St, etc will fill the void. Let's be honest, the talent drain is already happening...SEC football has been a non-factor the last three years. The SEC would become a first rate, second rate conference should it retaliate against its athletes or refuse to address their legitimate concerns.

No one is going to play nowadays for an HBCU for the NIL.

Delupe

You started a hypothetical thread about something you hope happens, but it’s not going to. You’re going to be extremely disappointed when the season starts and no talk of boycotting

Cancel the whole season then. I don't care. We're not budging on redistricting. Dems opened this can of worms. Now its on.

Bite your tongue! By saying that, I believe you may violated several State laws and just committed a sin second only to blasphemy.

I could see where the Sunbelt, MAC and CUSA players and coaches say frick it and refuse to become rent a wins for the power conferences. Which could end up hurting the majors as much as lack of money from the rent a win would hurt the mid major.

NIL could force a schism in college football.
