I could see that to a degree.

Problem for the players and coaches is that those body bag games fund the entire program plus the rest of the sports at the school.

The lack of football revenue would ripple across all sports at the University and if it's a concerted effort across several schools, could potentially impact TV revenue. The players have a tremendous amount of power...it just takes someone with leadership ability to organize a protest. Remember, players also have the choice to transfer via the portal to places not as politically charged and still receive their payday...elite players will get paid.

This is a bad take.

Players are not going to transfer to a podunk college and give up all that money. And give up playing for their preferred coach who they think can get them to NFL where the big money is. Thats just crazy talk.

These are kids fresh out of HS and rest younger than 21/22 for most part. They want to play football and get paid more than they thought possible in their HS days. They want to take care of their families who got them there.

People have nothing better to do than drum up scenarios that will never happen and play to certain people emotions.

The college season will play as scheduled and this will have zero bearing on it.

No. Just the media stirring up folks. If athletes sit out then they should have their scholarships pulled and forced to pay back NIL. That's how the real world works.

Yes...go to another school with NIL funding....the portal makes it easy. Bigger question...are Alabama boosters like yourself & others ok having a mediocre program should this issue become a sticking point with future elite minority players? Recruiters will use any advantage to bring talented players to their programs.

Please, please let this happen so we can reset this joke that college athletics has become once and for all. They are going to FAFO, real quick.

If they want to not get paid, they are stupid. Kick them off.

I'm looking forward to the football season and hope nothing interrupts it. I'm just reporting what I read. Don't shoot the messenger.

You provided no link or reference. It seems you made this up to get reaction, good job.

NIL is an elastic commodity...there are other programs in the NCAA, without the political baggage, that would gladly pay many of these players.

gerrymandering occuring in several Southern & Midwestern states

So, you don't know what the frick the word "gerrymander" means?

If you, and black football players, are too stupid to even understand what the actual issue is, I honestly don't give a damn what any of you do this summer.

The future of the country is more important than football, and it's well past time we stopped giving in to the demands of people who lack the intellect or desire to even acquire a rudimentary understanding of civics.

There are enough low IQ voters on my own side of the aisle that I need to worry about. I am beyond caring what low IQ people on the other side do.

If Bamas ability to remain competitive was only possible at the cost of being held hostage to the political whims of an bunch of entitled 20 year olds I’d walk away from CFB faster than a fart in the wind.

The portal makes it easy for about 50% who go looking for more money.

I am more than fine with that, if that's what it comes to.

But Alabama players will still get to vote in black gerrymandered District 7. The state is only undoing one of the gerrymandered districts, but not the one that includes Tuscaloosa.

So, that would just mean even more cognitive dissonance from Democrats.

What about the gerrymandering in northeastern states? Are they mad about that too?

Why haven’t the conservative college players boycotted this:

Because they are not weak minded and know playing football has nothing to do with politics. Why is always and only the leftist folks who are outraged?

And I still call bullshite on your story. No reference means you read it on radical commie leftist rag reddit where you are likely a member in good standing

bullshite. If this happened (won’t because you made it up) then the price of players would drop drastically because much fewer schools would have so many players willing to play. Would create a glut of players for fewer teams thus teams could pay way less with so many top players in portal.

Again, its all made up with no reference
