Thanks for pointing out the misspelling.
I wasn't doing that. It was my misspelling purely.

Agreed...but a well-spoken and consistent communist. I think that authenticity goes a long way with younger voters who are struggling financially.
Because our "educational" institutions are feminized indoctrination factories. All this shite is intentional.
That said, completely agree w/ you. If you don't understand the most basic of economics and know what questions to even ask, his views will make a lot of "sense" to you. I used to be a Lib, so I completely understand the emotional grip it can have on an individual.

All of societies losers gaining power. Doesnt seem too promising.

Forget the 5 points. He's a good speaker. Very confident in his presentation and he hits on the hot button issues that have been floating throughout NYC for at least the last 20 years.
I can see why as a candidate he was a problem for guys like Cuomo and Adams. Campaigns are retail, and he comes across as a top end retail politician who is likeable to his base and not off putting to his competitors in terms of personality.
You may not like or agree with what he says, but he presents it well.

No different than all the rhetoric AOC spews.
Free shite for everyone. Tax the rich.
Division and hate.
Why is everyone so surprised? The Dems haven’t changed their messaging. Kamala just sucked worse than they ever imagined. NYC is solid blue and they are still pissed Trump is president.

No doubt
Imagine someone posing on here to be somewhat conservative listening to a avowed socialists speech, about governing an area that will have no impact on his life, and looking for a positive spin?

Definitely feels like democratic socialism is finally moving mainstream. People are tired of living under the boot of billionaires, while the wealth of working people continues to evaporate into the hands the ultra rich who control every facet of our government. They got far too comfortable being greedy and power hungry, and they’re gonna reap the whirlwind before long.
So your solution is to make the government more powerful giving billionaires even yet more control?
Brilliant! It’s no wonder most of the billionaires and ultra wealthy vote democrat.

Do you really think Mamcommie's message is different from Newsome's message and ACTIONS.
Absolutely. Newsom is a poser. He will say what it takes to get elected. He doesn't believe half the tings he says.
Mamdani is consistent and authentic. I would never support him, but...AS A CANDIDATE...he blows the doors off of AOC or Newsom or Whitmer.

Not listening to it, probably stole his speech from Lenin and Trotsky.
Frick him and frick NYC
Frick him and frick NYC

Obama couched and concealed his brand of socialism much more and better than Bernie or this Mamdani guy.
That's why I believe the hysteria over this election and the idea that it may have much broader implications is likely a bit overplayed.

To understand what he's actually saying and consider why he won. I think he's the template for successful Democrats around the country.
..in getting elected...not in governing.
It's amusing to hear people mischaraterize what Mamdani said without them actually listening to what Mamdani said.
Like Trump, Mamdani bypasses the media and speaks directly to voters. Mamdani's brand of politics renders irrelevant pundits such as Van Jones.
lying pandering bullshite said compassionately is not new
it got Obama and Clinton elected President
I am amazed at how some still listen to what politicians say and ignore what they actually do

Lots of thanks to the people who helped elect him, lots of praise for the "courage" of those who voted for him, lots of generalized demonizing of people who have wealth without explaining explicitly how that nebulous group is hurting them and absolutely no reminding voters that the hardships they feel have come during the last decade where they've had nothing but Democrat rule and how going even further to the Left is contrary to wanting to improve their fortunes.
nailed it

I just disagree with the angry part. His entire appeal is to make NYC affordable for everyone. I think that's a pipe dream, but he was positive and coherent.
Honestly, I don't know if he has the authority to raise taxes on individuals and companies...is that something only the state of New York can do? Other than that, it sounds like he has the power to implement his policies...which I am sure would fail.

"Mamdani is consistent and authentic"
on this we agree.
I'm glad he was able to dazzle you with the words he strung together eloquently.
I look forward to his results and I look forward to him blowing the doors off other candidates and being place by "his party" front and center on the national stage.
