How many have lost the rah-rah for your alma mater due to leftist politics?

I certainly have. I love Ole Miss but the place is less and less the Ole Miss that I love. I watch sports with much less allegiance and interest than I used to. How many of you feel the same? It would be nice to also know the school you support.

EDIT: Changed "liberalism" in subject to "leftist politics."

I hated Ole Miss because I was an LSU fan but,

I did admire them for having the Confederate flag and their band playing Dixie.

Good times.

Same for me. South Carolina's freshman class is 44% out-of-state and Richland County went almost 70% for Biden. Not near the love for my alma mater that there used to be.

Centenary College was a wonderful place back in the day. It was not liberal nor conservative but totally open to all opinion that could be defended by logic. It was the happiest 4 years of my life.

Today it is left wing and over run with LUGS.

I'm much less emotionally invested in sports, but that applies to pro as well as college. I was asleep by the time the Saints drafted on Thursday night.

LSU has lost its shine for me, as has my private high school.. Episcopal. Neither will EVER get another penny from me.

I’ll put it this way: if they drop Ole Miss and/or Rebels I’m basically done giving all that much of a shite about our sports, and boy do I love getting shite hammered in the Grove and left field.

It started to die many moons ago when Auburn kept pushing tailgating away from stadium, and monetized it. Then, they jacked ticket prices to crazy levels and required donations to even get tix…. To see the likes of Akron and Middle Kentucky College of North Carolina at Tuskegee. Hard pass.

It makes it more obvious to me with blinders off that the kids playing didn’t give two shiats about the school, it was all about the money. I can easily tune out a game now, I didn’t watch more than 5 minutes all season. Didn’t miss it.

I NEVER could have comprehended that I could reach the level of disgust that I have with Ole Miss. What was once one of the most beloved (highest % of dues paying alumni in the nation}, unique (why do you think half of the undergraduates have been from other (mostly) Southern states for decades) has become a laughing stock and is definitely despised by the majority of Mississippians. Oxford campus enrollment has plummeted to under 15,000 now and there is NO TELLING how big the drop will be next year. And they (the administration) just act like nothing is going on while the school literally is destroying itself and allows Critical Race Theorist faculty to continually make fools out of the administration and themselves in the public sphere.

Marxist Leftism, not 'liberalism'.

And count among those who have lost my 'rah-rah'. The idiocy on display can't be undone. Sorry, if that's truly how athletes and the University feel, then count me out.

There was a period last year when K-State football players got their jock straps in a wad about some stupid tweet someone made about something and it looked like some of the luster would fade. Then some organization did a free speech protection ranking of universities and K-State came out number two in the country so I feel relatively calm about my alma mater now. Other than Bruce Weber seeming to do just enough every year to save his job I don't really have any complaints.

Raises hand.

Only money they get is what is necessary for my kids' education.

Once they're out, they will never see a dime from me unless they do a 180 on this SJW woke shite

I went to Georgia for a year right out of high school back in the early 70s, and failed out. The drinking age had just been lowered to 18, and you could get high just by breathing in the dorms. I was always a huge fan of the Dawgs, but that has gradually faded to nothing over the last 20 years or so. I later went to St. John's College for 2 years, and I consideer that to be my alma mater, and I've given a little money here and there to the endowment. Heck, I might go back and finish the last 2 years in my old age. You'd be surprised at how many people 60 plus go do "the program." The campus in Santa Fe has about 10 or 15 old hippies in the student body all the time. Annapolis has a few here and there too.

Do not support the academics or watch a second of any sport after 60+ years following all things LSU. It’s easier when living in another state. Sure do feel bad for the parents who are sending their kids to college these days. However, we do need engineers and Constitutional lawyers.

No more LSU or pro sports for me, but it was good to read that Joe Delaney’s nephew got drafted.

The corporate tailgate was over the top. I understand the need for ticket prices, scholly roles, etc. you have to pay for the facilities to lure the kids. My issue, being an Auburn fan, we are paying to keep up with the Joneses, and we cant even keep up with the fellas who dont have a pot to piss in

We have more ex coaches on payroll than Hostess has Twinkies, and they dont leave a bad taste in your mouth either. (no offense to you Mr. Twinkie, aka Charles Barkley, but thats a story for another day).

The football team did have some "march" with the coach, but when no one showed up to protest, they decided it was porterhouse steak night at the dorm and left.
