I guess, but I mean - Mitt would be the one on the island more than Trump. This might be a rocky 4 years foreign policy wise and Romney would instantly be the credible "bad cop" to Russia and Putin. Trump has kind of played nice with Putin for strategic reasons but that leaves him a bit vulnerable vs potential Russian aggression into Eastern Europe in Trumps first year.

Romney would instantly change that paradigm while allowing Trump to remain the "good cop" to Putin if Putin wants to play nice IMO

IF Romney will put aside his dislike and Trump can, and Mitt can follow orders then OK. I remember back when George H.W. Bush and Reagan had a tough primary, then Reagan had him as VP.

I honestly feel like Romney is a very principled guy. I hated what he did and knew he was 100% wrong but I think he believed he was doing the right thing.

Maybe to please Ryan? idk.

dude - no

you have it backwards, Ryan is worried about pleasing Trump

Romney is an American patriot - he loves the country

he thought Trump would be bad for the country - he was a fricking moron for thinking this; especially since the alternative was Hilldebeast, but whatever - whiskey under the bridge

Mittens will do as he is told - he is a man of high moral character; again, I hate what he did, but he did it out of his conviction of "what is right"

And this is a man that will believe it is "right" to be loyal to his boss.

His magic underwear won't let him do anything different

Believe me...

I don't melt over anything in politics, but I would be disappointed to see Romney as SoS.

Only because the guy was blatantly against Trump as a presidential candidate.

And somehow he gets one of the top positions in the administration?

Doesn't add up.

That's a dumb reason to be against Romney. If you think he's going to do a bad job or do things you oppose, that's perfectly reasonable. But his opposition to a Trump presidency should have zero impact on how you feel about him getting the job

I think that Mitt was thinking that he could win in 2020, after Hillary served as Obama's 3rd term, or died in office.

I am a white male.

Trump is a white male.
Romney is a white male.

Therefore, I agree with this choice no matter what he stands for.

(Hey leftwing media- Am I doing this right?)

I'd be surprised if he is tapped for SoS - but he is far better than Rudy. He is exactly the type we need for a diplomatic post.

Mitt is perfect for the VA job, not SoS. I think Mitt could turn the VA around fairly quickly.

I dont trust that silly morman at all and I want Bolton as SOS. Bolton has balls and won't take any shat. I'll be very disappointed if Trump picks Romney to do anything.

Not a bit. Romney would be miles better than Bolton. Frankly he might be a better choice than Giuliani too. IMO Rudy seems to have lost a step over the years. I do think Rudy gets the nod over Romney due to his loyalty though.

This. I saw folks on here worried that Donald would only hire yes men. If he picks folks he disagreed with, he proves he is at least willing to listen to all sides before making a decision. If Romney doesn't fall in line, then he gets fired.

Huckabee won't be happy. Still not sure what Trump's angle is here by bringing in the devil. I personally am not irate over the potential pick, but it seems like there are far more qualified people to choose from.

I voted for Romney twice and feel he would make an excellent SoS.
