you've got to be a special kind of dumb to believe the moon landings were fake

One of the main theories is that because no stars are seen in the footage, it's fake.

Should the normal mind have expected to see "stars" in what were simulations done in a studio by NASA to better explain what was happening since the original videos from the Moon were not very clear.

Somehow some minds might have conflated reality with simulations, with the simulations winning out.

Why the two most minimally charted "new frontiers" remain the Cosmos and the human mind.

No it didn't. If it was remotely possible man would have been to mars already. We can't leave earth except in an airplane. That's facts.

Most of Nasa videos are filmed in a swimming pool to look like no gravity. It's all BS.

Lol. This is why everybody laughs at the PT Board.

Getting to Mars is magnitudes more difficult than the moon. The moon is a next door neighbor while Mars is several states over relatively speaking. Combine that with short launch windows that occur maybe once or twice every two years, a ten month long journey in space, plus another return trip that could be as long, and global dust storms that occur every 3 Martian years, a trip to Mars is much more difficult than to the moon.

We have had the ability to get to the moon for over fifty years now. Shifting priorities brought about by a changing political landscape caused NASA to move on to the shuttle and ISS missions. Reverting back to manned landings doesn’t just happen over night.

I know.

And still have not gone anywhere.

Look, you think we went, I think we didn't. Neither of us are going to budge. But not a single person here knows with 100% certainty if we went because they've never been themselves. Photos and videos are BS.

Lol. You can literally buy a very powerful telescope and look for yourself.

Doesn't even have to be that powerful to see the space station.

Idiot.

Then why did you say if we could go to the moon, we would have already gone to Mars? You have no internal logic to back up your assertions.

It’s like you didn’t read the rest of my comment. Shifting priorities coupled with a massive jump in difficulty is why no one has been to Mars yet.

You know you can read about it on Wikipedia. I'm not saying you need to believe it but at least you'd understand the actual story of how it happened.

I think we went but after the covid charade I no longer judge people for being skeptical.

Even with vastly superior technology than we had then, I don't doubt that we will have a hard time going back due to 2 major factors:

1) Those post-WW2 scientists were the best we've ever seen and their technical skill was likely light years (pardon the pun) ahead of whatever diversity hires we have pushing automated buttons at nasa now.

2) Safety regulations were practically non existent compared to what they are now. It was win the space race at all costs and yeeting to the moon was likely a good dice roll as much as anything.

Doesn't mean a man ever went. I'm sure we can send all the scrap metal we want there.

So, you don’t think we ever put a man in orbit?

No. NASA has already said multiple times we can't.

I would think 50 years of technology could get us to Mars if we went to the moon with the technology of a paper plane and a simple calculator.

I find it easier to believe a human manually fired that j2 engine a 2nd time to get the right entry on translunar injection than a computer or nasa did it 230k miles away. Then they had to get the LEM to the lunar surface, intact. And eventually fire off the ascent stage. Piece of fricking cake.

Everything from skylab on was all about low Earth orbit, 0 grav research. That started may of 73. We've learned a frick ton via skylab, spacelab, and the iss. The type of shite that might actually make surviving travel to mars possible.

Okay…I can listen and even be persuaded that the moon landing was faked. The incentives were there, limited number of people in the know who all benefited from the hoax, and no real downside if true. In fact, it makes a lot of sense they would fake it if the technology wouldn’t let them go because of international politics at the time.

But, they have definitely put men in orbit. It’s too many people involved, too many countries, too many people with telescopes looking at them while in orbit. No way you could keep up a charade like that for this long and not get caught.

No! No! It's impossible.

But we were bitter enemies with the Soviet Union at the time. What's confusing is why we let them fake putting a man in orbit first, and didn't call them on it.

Then I guess they did us a solid, and did not call out the moon fakes?

Then there is the Apollo 13 thing. Why do that?

It's all so confusing.
