But why? Why should they get to decide on the appropriation of tax dollars they don't pay within a country to which they don't belong?
These are local elections. Local governments are funded largely by sales and property taxes. If non-citizens buy groceries, they are paying sales taxes. If they own or rent a home, they are paying property taxes ... either directly or indirectly.

Why worry about Russia if Russians can just come f’ing vote?

This.

What's the point of worrying about "Russian collusion" when you're already trying to lay the groundwork for non-citizens to participate in elections?

What if they are buying most of their groceries with other people's tax dollars and are living in free housing?

Illegals are a money drain. They take far more than they give.

This did absolutely nothing to current laws. The opposite result on this bill also would have done absolutely nothing to current laws. The latter being a good thing, because I don't want the federal government dictating local election laws. And neither does anyone here. This thread is a matter of misunderstanding.

$113 billion a year drain - and that's a conservative figure.

Why stop there? Why not just open up our elections to the entire globe? Anybody who bothers to register can vote. Liberals would love that. After all, the United States has a global footprint, and what we do affects people all across the world...

Yes! Now you've got it. THAT is the ultimate objective of this Globalist Movement. Drain as much wealth as possible from the US taxpayers. Use that to support Globalist causes, across the Globe, of course.

Utilize the US military to police the Globe and protect the commercial and humanitarian interests of the International community.

Subordinate the interests of the USA to those of the International Community.

Our great-grandchildren will not enjoy the same standard of living as we.

OK, John. Then I want ballots to every election in every country worldwide.

What a dumbass. The guy has literally outlived his usefulness.

Not if 1 dime of my state and/or federal dollars go into that school. We are already paying to educate their child. Not going to give them the right to vote on spending more of my tax dollars.

What could possibly be behind the seemingly nonchalant attitude of the Dems as a whole toward the startling trend toward socialism? And the very likely result of this scaring away the ever important moderate and independent swing voters, especially in "rust belt" states?? Throw in their resistance to denouncing antisemitism and the sources of this rhetoric. Why are they not in clear panic mode over this very highly publicized situation?? I submit that the answer is that they have a goal they believe to be realistic that will make up for these many lost votes. And the goal must involve making up for it in wholesale fashion by either A) creating new voters, the numbers of which will make up for and perhaps surpass the losses, or B) somehow overthrow the electoral college system. Or C) they're just too dumb to realize what's happening.

Some Democrats should just go away...
But don't illegals already vote in local school related elections?
These frickers get their foot in the door and the next thing they are telling you to not hog the bed sheets.
quote:

A 1996 federal law prohibits noncitizens from voting in federal elections, but there is no prohibition on localities, and indeed a number of jurisdictions allow it, to some extent. Famously liberal Takoma Park, a small jurisdiction in Maryland, has for several decades allowed noncitizens, including illegal immigrants, to vote in local elections. Experts say as many as 40 states or territories allowed noncitizen voting dating back to the nation’s founding. San Francisco in July began allowing noncitizens to vote in school board elections — though they must be parents or legal guardians of students.

Sometimes I think the talk of bloodshed in this country is over the top, other times, not so much. This puts me in “not so much” mode.
