Not very American.
WASHINGTON — Rep. Chip Roy (TX-21) issued the following statement Thursday evening:
Today in the House Judiciary Committee’s first meeting of the 117th Congress, Democrat members voted against simple amendments offered by Republicans to recite the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag of the United States of America at each committee meeting and to swear an oath to Almighty God when giving testimony.
There is no better evidence of how out of touch they are with the American people.

Was the pledge tied into the oath or were they separate?

These people are insane.
ETA: Don't say the pledge or swear to god if you don't want but the Democrats seem hellbent on eskewing any tradition that comes off as "too american"

I'll be honest...under normal circumstances and at normal times in our history, I'd be arguing in favor of this as I'm not a fan of either the pledge or swearing oaths, etc.
However, now is NOT normal, and as such I will not be throwing any support behind meaningless crap like this right now and will push back against it because the folks pushing this are who are causing the actual problems we're facing now, so they won't get my support here.

Well they are loyal to China why would the pledge allegiance to America?

I mean, why would they pledge allegiance to something they hate?

What is the purpose of doing this other than political posturing?
Everyone swore an oath when they took office.
Also, why are Republicans set on establishing a national religion when the Framers intentionally did not add one. The US is a nation of religious freedom. It shouldn't matter what religion you have so long as you do your job as pledged.
This only resonates with people who prioritize it or are ill-informed about religious freedom.

Good for them. I no longer care to say that Pledge, either.
