It seems like people these days never want to admit they've been wrong about someone.

He had texts on his phone about doing Molly, smoking weed, party favors, and paying for sex. These are illegal, but I don’t know if he can be prosecuted for what is in a text. This happened before he was in Congress and his 1st term in Congress.

He did write a check for $1,500 for one of the girls college classes which is pretty nice

You think that procedurally they normally don’t let the object of the report answer accusations?

I would think procedurally they normally do that because the object is still a member of congress. That's one of the reasons why I think it's bullshite, but people keep pointing out that he did nothing illegal, as if that erases the rest of the report. An ethics report doesn't have to accuse you of breaking the law.

I wonder if this is the same girl that had a Florida fake ID that wasn't fake, it was just false, that the guy who is in charge of ID's (Florida official) got for her, and THEN the same guy introduced her to Gaetz?

The story gets more corrupt after that. Jimmy Dore did a full length show on it a month or two ago.

This ethics report is almost entirely about him breaking the law. I assume from that comment that you didn’t read it.

What is everyone so upset about exactly? Gaetz quit Congress. He won’t be serving in the administration. The only thing he did during his time in the House was sling shite on Twitter and cause drama.

I don’t care what he does now or what happens to him. Why do so many of you?

We all know you would suck off the establishment without even a dinner, so I don’t expect you to understand. Get back on your knees.

What does that have to do with this situation?

It’s an ethics report (which does nothing) about a guy who’s currently doing nothing and never really did anything.

What am I missing on why so many people are riled up one way or the other?

In the ethics report, Gaetz is accused of paying his long-term girlfriend for sex. None of that is made up.

Do you think it’s a good thing to release a report like that? Does it set good precedent? Would you like to see more of it in the future?

I think all Ethics reports should be released.
All congressional work-product that isn’t classified/Nat security related, in fact.

If they’re doing the work, we’re paying them to do it and should see the work product.

I actually agree with you. If they knew they were going to have to release it, this investigation wouldn’t have happened.

agreed.

In this specific case, this report was coming out whether they released it or not. For fuks sake, USSC draft decisions leak (with no consequences).... a hated MAGA congressman that gave them plenty of ammo had no shot.

He's probably better off with the report leaking instead of drip-drip leaks about the report because they would have been far worse.

I file this in the Madison Cawthorn drawer. Gaetz made whatever bed he’s going to lie in by being who he is. He never did anything worthwhile in his time in the House. He’s just a shite thrower.

That’s why I don’t understand the outrage on his behalf. It’s not killing his career advancement, etc. he never had any shot of being more than he was. Hell, now he can go make a fortune slinging shite on podcasts or cable news instead of being annoying in Congress.

This isn't a legal report, it's an ethics report.

I do know that but they also have used that for referrals for criminal prosecution

However, FaceTime what you said there must be ethics investigation every single payment made behalf of congressman from the slush fund

Which then begs the question- are they using taxpayer money to settle these claim and if so we are allowed to know what's been paid and for what purpose

I think a large portion of it is made up and based on the testimony of some unidentified female that was snuck in for secret testimony
