Good people are needed all over the world. Best for them to stay and improve their country.

Palacios disputes those claims, citing her parents’ asylum application and their decade-long wait for approval. “It’s like there not taking anything into consideration,” she said.
Honduras is a peaceful, stable US ally, and has been fir decades. What the frick do they need “asylum” for? Asylum from what?
This whole background reeks of gaming the system.
Edit: after seeing some comments about the crime rate,I looked it up, and indeed, MS-13 has been s problem there, but they've started taking the El Salvador approach which will get things back to normal:

Honduras imposed a state of emergency in December 2022 that enacted a police crackdown on gangs throughout major cities, following the success of a similar program in its neighboring country El Salvador.

America is so much safer with her being gone.
Is deportation just about safety? Why can't it be about academics and prioritizing Americans' interests?
She, at the very least, took a spot in nursing school that could have gone to an American
Did she take TOPs, scholarship, welfare, etc?

Um, she will have to get licensed down there. That means she won't be able to just walk in and start practicing.

Who paid for her tuition? Why did LSU admit someone in the country illegally?
This!!!!
This is the question that must be answered.

She may have had fake documents that the school did not verify which I dont know is common at the admissions level or at the time she applied, her status was good but changed when she skipped her immigration status hearing (likely)
Irregardless as Maraist would say.
I’d bet my house that that not only did she get in state tuition, but she also received a TOPS scholarship despite neither being a resident or a citizen.

That LSU degree is probably more valuable than a degree from a random Honduran school. She'll be fine.

“The only crime the you can say we committed is that we entered the country illegally. Knowing that is frustrating because in here you feel powerless and hopeless,” she said.

and she had missed her hearing.
Dumbass move on her part. You would think this would be first priority for her considering everything going on.

How many opportunities do you think she took away from American kids over her lifetime? Tops? Scholarships? A spot in nursing school?
None. We are short of nurses.

In a statement, ICE New Orleans said Palacios has been in the U.S. illegally for the past 15 years and that “her family declined to find a way for her to obtain legal status.”
15 years

How does LSU accept a student, allow them to graduate and them be illegal?

Nursing school spots are unlimited at LSU?

I have empathy for her. But not sympathy. There are consequences to no taking the right steps to be allowed to stay.

Right. She should be grateful for the free education and all the money her family must’ve made working construction or whatever. Time to go home and Make Honduras Great Again.
