I’ve heard many Drs would tell their patients not to get the Covid vax, maybe close to 30% but their public silence didn’t help.

My doc told me to never get the COVID vax. He was forced out of his big hospital practice by the other partners and now practices on his own.

Why the uptick in autism?

To be fair some of this is due to advances in medicine and societal reality that allows for More babies being born, saved, and able to live. Older people having children. Etc, etc,

I don't see how 1 in 30 kids getting autism is an advance in medicine when it was 1 in 2000 40 years ago.

I don’t blame you. If someone came at me like a car salesman right after birth, I’d back away too. I’ve almost bought the undercoat and extended warranty myself.

On autism: rates look higher mostly because we’re better at spotting it now. When I was a kid in BR, those same kids were often labeled “slow” or just “off" but they were always there. As for the Amish, turns out they do have autism cases, just fewer diagnoses and less data (and some vaccinate).

I get why this feels murky. In my training my attendings had to teach me what measles looked like because it didn't exist in the US. No medical trainee saw real cases unless they rotated overseas in developing countries. Peds residents used to spinal tap sick kids all the time and were good at it, but they usually call anesthesiologists now because cases are rare enough they have the luxury and they don't have the repetitions. If large-scale epidemics come back, though, it will be a serious problem.

Totally get why that stat sounds alarming. But it’s kind of like saying, “Back in the 1800s, nobody had scurvy because we just called it ‘lazy sailor syndrome’ and blamed it on bad character.

If we ever can get around to developing a really effective treatment for autism, this little debate over vaccines & autism will become a historical curiosity.

are just as much of a problem. my son was vaccine injured at 12 months from his MMR shot. zero shots are going into my kids from here on out.

Did you get a medical diagnosis that said so or did you THINK that's what caused your sons autism?

Lots of folks I know are using the vaccine schedule from the late 80’s/early 90’s.

ETA: Dr’s will often want to use quadravalent (4 in 1) vaccine’s. The individual vaccines are still available, so if they tell you the “old school” vaccine (MMR for example) is only part of a combination, they’re misleading you. The individual MMR vaccine is still around.

Heavy metal detox with diatomaceous earth reverses autism. But the medical industry doesn’t want free cures to the problem they cause.

So are you saying the standard changed or we changed how we diagnosed it. There was no history on either side of my family of autism but 2 of my cousins kids have autism, they're noticeably off. There weren't any klds at my church with autism when I was a kid. Now there are several. I know this is anecdotal but in lifetime the rise in autistic kids seems to have gone through the roof. I feel like it's either vaccines or/and our food. We eat out the woods 3 to 4 times a week and my kids are never sick.so I do think our food is making us less healthy but I worry about the vaccines to.

The profit motive is everywhere. The influencers pushing alt-cures sell supplements, get affiliate marketing deals, etc..

People are confused and have a hard time knowing who's really likely to help and who isn't.

I won't win you over on vaccines, so let's talk justification for beliefs. Why are your diatomaceous earth experts credible?

Medical advice from memes. It’s crazy your vote counts the same as mine.

They do, and the ones that don't can go on the Children's Health Defense podcast and talk about how it was God's will for their child to die of measles

You are trying to have a discussion with a person who believes cancer is just tightly wound parasites.

Didn’t know that but I read the thread where she urged people to avoid coupling with the vaxxed lest you be vaxxed yourself.

Anti-vaccine attitudes are getting common. People should kick the tires on the attitudes they’re vibing.

Delay the schedule. Separate the vaccines.

Edit: make sure your doc is good. The way the shot is given seems to be very important. Shake the vile. Look for certain cloudiness, etc.

Look at the risks vs benefits of every vaccine.

I think I would definitely get MMR, DTaP, and polio. There's been a recent measles out break. Whooping cough is pretty widespread these days and bad for babies and young kids. I have a friend in a wheelchair due to polio, so I lean towards getting that one.

You can run titres before getting boosters.

I think spreading out vaccines is a good idea too.

There's a middle row to take with vaccines which is caution and research.
