I get the skepticism - the profession of medicine behaved egregiously with respect to opioids, but you have to be willing to use your brain. Vaccines are top-10 public health intervention in human history and are waaaay cheaper than treatment, waaaay less dangerous than the diseases they prevent, and I would have gone to a LOT of trouble to have my kids vaccinated and I would go to waaaaay more trouble getting them vaccinated in a world where this skepticism is so prevalent.

it's clearly antiscience.

It's weirdly sorta anti-science and sorta 19th century science. In his book he shits on the notion that individual diseases are caused by individual infectious agents (e.g. measles, polio, smallpox, etc.). He favors an old scientific theory from the 19th century - terrain theory, and Louis Pasteur among many, many other won the debate over it, so "germ theory" is the basis for lots of things that keep you well - antibiotics, boiling milk to >165F to make it consistently safe to drink, and yes, vaccinations. But RFK seems to be a true doubter of germ theory (he said so himself!) and wants to make vaccines harder to get, more feared, harder to study, etc.

Your old family doctor is misinformed. It’s against the law for a doctor to take a kickback.

It is not against the law for your family doctor to be bonused by the system based on his/her patient’s compliance with vaccine schedules. This ramps up quite a bit if the patient population of the doctor skews older and the system has skin in the game with a Medicare advantage system.

Also, vaccination rates will be a consideration for the insurance company in the rates that they set for the individual doctor’s reimbursements.

Same. The burden of proof should really be flipped - anyone with a young child should proceed with extreme caution and vigilance about refusing vaccines, especially in communities with growing negative attitudes about vaccines. Vaccine-skeptical beliefs & actions are cheap in a world where major childhood infectious are rare, but get more expensive the more our neighbors refuse them.

The burden of proof lies in the safety tests. Oh yea, Fauci admitted those don’t exist. You’re evil.

ok, go find whatever you think is so indefensible and let's see if it's really evil.

honestly, but parents and people are bad at following up and the newborn period and I suspect it's just a convenient time to do health interventions before kids have a chance to fall through the cracks.

This is true... but they don't explain that and apply blanket treatment... this is the problem many have in trusting the 'experts'.

heard 2 years ago that Big Parma were planning to redesign a bunch of the classic attenuated vacs that have worked for decades and now make and issue them using mRNA technology. Make sure you give your kid the old proven vacs not any that are now mRNA.

Shingles shot with mRNA trials began in around 2021/22

Kids used to die from diphtheria a lot, and polio was no joke either, and with people coming over the border without vaccines, some of these diseases are coming back.

Way more people die from the shots than they ever did from the “diseases”.

I agree. A lot of doctors' explanations suck or they're too rushed or stressed to give good ones and they can get exasperated. I certainly know I can.

My kids are vaccinated at the minimum requirements, we always tried to get all in one shots when they had to have them to avoid multiples at a young age. I have no idea what all they are pushing these days though.

We also chose to do our daughters ear piercings at 9 months, which is pretty popular since there isnt 9 month shots. Doctor did them.

Is anyone else just skeptical about these vaccines being recommended for babies? My kid was just born and now they want to inject all of this poison into his body. I am going to hold off until we get more guidance from RFK. Anyone else?

Skip all vaccines.
The vaccines risks and effects are greater than the diseases of the entire panel.

Sure, in a world where you free ride off everybody else vaccinating their kids.

But that world is going away and we're gonna have a chance to see what it's like to live in communities with low vaccination rates.
