How Hilton responds to this is going to be important for them.
Very.
More than just the anti-American bullshite, they better say very explicitly how much they condemn their employees looking into the background of any hotel guest for any reason.

Do you understand how franchises work?

Hilton just lost every federal agency's business with this idiotic move.

Guarantee its a franchise of HIlton who will have their license pulled with the quickness.
Actually surprised HIlton Corporate hasn't responded to this yet. They are letting it sit out there for a long while.

They've already responded and they're investigating the franchisee because it goes against their values. Everyone is welcome.

If I’m the Hilton CEO I’m making myself part of the investigation into this personally including flying to the hotel and interview everyone.
This could be a killer.

Hilton quickly distanced itself from the franchised property.
“Hilton hotels serve as welcoming places for all,” the company said in a statement to Skift. “This hotel is independently owned and operated, and the actions referenced are not reflective of Hilton values.”
The company is “investigating the matter,” said a Hilton spokesperson, and it “works with governments, law enforcement and community leaders around the world to ensure our properties are open and inviting to everyone.”
Skift couldn’t confirm the hotel’s identity. The social media post referenced Hampton Inn Lakeview in Minnesota. Hilton did not specify whether the property’s staff would face specific consequences.
Hilton, like other major hotel groups, operates under two models: franchise and managed. In this case, Hilton Corporate Headquarters doesn’t have the hotel’s staff on its payroll.
However, Hilton does have operational requirements for franchisees. Those who violate its policies may be subject to penalties and, in extreme cases, be removed from the system.

I saw it repeated on Fox when they were reporting it but I'm not linking their ad block removing site

They have an actual code in the system to use for government agencies so they get their rate and this hotel used that against them.
Hilton will kill this Hampton Inn with the quickness

If this proves out to be true I will simply never stay at a Hilton ever again.
This is probably the work of a franchisee, not Hilton Company.

It prob. wont be the CEO but you can bet your arse its going to be somebody high up the food chain (whatever level it takes to disqualify a franchisee)..I do agree with you , If im up there at Hilton, Im already on the ground looking for answers

Hilton has already come out and said that. The OP needs to update the thread title.
