This investigation is not for the Democrats. It is for the nervous Republicans like Flake, Collins, and Murkowski. The FBI background update will allow them to vote with a better conscious and tell their constituents that he passed the investigation.
I do expect this to be a superficial update and say that He said/She said nothing new to see here. It may even point out a few lies like "I am afraid of flying" by the accuser. I expect it to go on with or without her cooperation.

In fairness, the time limit doesn't make much sense. What if the partial report on Friday makes things worse for Kav because they aren't able to close the loop on a few statements?

The investigation is pointless because even on the small chance that Kav did lie about some small detail, you know his friends watched the whole debacle and will corroborate everything Kav said.
An example would be the Devil’s Triangle response.

As expected. They don't gaf about the fbi investigation that they screeched for, just the endless bureaucracy it would create.
The best hope now is a rapid conclusion to the review. Ideally, prior to the deadline so we can watch liberals barbecue the fbi they have been defending diligently for the last 2 years.
I think it would be wise for the fbi to find a way to keep these lawyer busy if possible. We don't need them trolling for more fake accusers. The media is another story.

It would not surprise me at all if Ford was checked in to an inpatient therapy facility to help her deal with the "anxiety and PTSD symptoms" brought on by having to relive her attack before the senate judiciary committee. That buys them 3-7 days no questions asked, no fricking way the republicans sack up and pull her out of that.

In a Democrat fantasy.. a new dem endorsed accuser will come forward every other day, with a vague accusation...and the fbi will waste several days on each claim, trying to investigate.
