Also profound when video shows another Officer on the scene after the shooting ask 'where is the gun'?
From 15 feet away that old lady was a minimal threat, even with a pot of hot water. After her reaction (I'm sorry) to the cop's comments she was less of a threat. That cop deserves to be held accountable & responsible for HIS actions.

That's a cut and dry crime. No one will champion the officer.

Despite Biden anointing this one, it doesn't work well for them. It has to be an irredeemable piece of shite who basically did it to him/herself, like Floyd and Mike Brown.

Yup just from his old videos of him I can pretty much guarantee he gives two shits about any of this other than stirring the pot even Kamala had called him out for being a racist

improving race relations than that.

Just the fact that you’re using the term “race relations” is problematic. Like we’re all from different planets.

Also, racial harmony is over. It’s been over since Trayvon Martin. Media stoked those flames and got the dumb Democrats and black people convinced that hundreds of black kids at Harvard are getting picked off for fun by white cops.

So if she had thrown the boiling water on him and he sustained 3rd degree burns then shot her... that would have been a good shoot? I have a problem with having to be injured before you defend yourself...

After watching it again, I wonder if the cop even knew what the word rebuke means?

“I rebuke you in the name of Jesus” is not a threat. Obviously not a smart thing to say to that pair of cops. But clearly not threatening. Wonder if he will claim he thought it was? I am sure he will.

After watching it again it is amazing how fast they went from laughing about it being hot to her being dead. Ten seconds. I think the one that was laughing was the one wearing the body cam, not the one that shot. The way he was cussing and acting afterwards makes me think he knew they had just fricked up bigly and his life was about to change because of his shithead partner.

On a side note, has anyone noticed a correlation between bad cop shootings and forearm/sleeve tattoos? Just based on the most egregious ones that make the news, they seem to be correlated.

The problem I have with “his” tweet is that it assumes that the shooting was purely driven by race. There is no proof of that, and many will believe it was driven by race simply because the president said so. It is dangerous, divisive and inflammatory.

I have a problem with the cops shooting someone who is not threatening them. Especially in their own home when they are the ones that called the cops.

If the cops came to your house for whatever reason, and you were outside splitting firewood in the yard, I assume you would be cool with them shooting you because you were holding an axe. After all you could throw the axe at them and injure or even kill them. They shouldn’t have to wait to defend themselves from possible injury.

You would be ok with that based on your logic.

Anyway, those cops served and protected her to death.

So if anybody is ever tempted to believe that “this is just politics, in the end both sides want what’s best for America but have different opinions about it”, reference that Biden tweet. They couldn’t have come up with something more divisive and counter-productive to improving race relations than that.

And there is an issue there that all should agree on if we take race out of the equation and that’s poor police training, little accountability, and abuse of power by law enforcement. It needs to be addressed but it can’t be because they’ve made it a race issue so you end up with many backing the police and many opposing them because the focus is on racism rather than abuse of power/poor training. There are several instances of cops killing innocent white peoples during no knock raids at the wrong address, or shooting the person who called the cops thinking they were the perp, etc

Cop was incompetent at best, complete sociopath at worst.

Same for Bidens response.

Yes, this incident may very well be anecdotal rather than representative of a true pattern, but do you really believe it completely irrational of a black person to hear of this incident and have some trepidation about calling the police?

Yes, and based on what you just said, so do you.

This narrative that the media and Democratic activists and politicians are committed to is simply dangerous.

Do you remember the black guy who was driving a truck a couple of years or so ago who led police on a long high speed chase because he was afraid to stop for a state trooper in broad daylight who was just trying to give him a ticket for his mudflaps?

He wouldn't stop because he was "afraid" of what the police would do to him.

For a mudflap violation.

So instead of stopping and getting a ticket (possibly, who knows? The trooper might have just given him a warning), the guy ends up being attacked by a police dog with guns drawn on him.

The statistics on black people being killed by police simply do not support any of this hysterical fear of police. And furthering the narrative causes more black people to refuse to cooperate, which puts more black people in danger (as well as cops).

It's completely irresponsible and needs to stop.

This is from NYT..
quote:

As she was handling the pot, several feet away from the deputies, Ms. Massey said twice to the deputies, “I rebuke you in the name of Jesus.”

Mr. Grayson told Ms. Massey that she “better not,” using expletives.

“I swear to God,” he said, warning her that he would shoot her in the face.

Now you can say that the cop just figured that she was going to throw the boiling water on him.. The courts decided he was wrong.. It sounds like she was going to throw the water on him.. So that is the point of my earlier post.. I guess it would have been better for the cop to get 3rd degree burns than be in jail...
