Can you specify the things that are necessary. But that he is not being allowed to do?

Who is stopping him?

Also, was he aware he wasn't going to be allowed to do these things when he kicked off this war? Perhaps he was misinformed about what he was and was not allowed to do?

Yall don’t get it.

The Iran “war” was a 100% success the minute we pushed Iranian nuclear capability back 10 years.

Everything else since then is just noise.

It’s 100% victory on that point alone.

And guess what? We will be back here in another 10 years having to do it again. And then another 10 years after that, having to do it again.

It’s just the nature of the issue.

What we need to make sure of is that we have presidents in place at those times who have the knots to pull the trigger and do this again and again.
Apparently we've gone from “no more forever wars” to openly endorsing a forever war.

What exactly does “100% victory” mean here? What would 50% victory look like? Having to bomb them every five years?

And what outcome could ever qualify as failure under this definition? Who actually gets to declare that the ten-year setback was achieved in the first place? The president? The Pentagon? Intelligence agencies? What objective benchmark tells us “mission accomplished,” and how would the public ever independently know whether Iran was set back ten years, five years, or eighteen months?

More importantly, what happens once you make periodic war the policy itself? You’re not describing an emergency response anymore. You’re describing a standing commitment to bomb another country every decade indefinitely. At that point you’ve handed the military-industrial complex something even better than an open-ended war: a predictable, recurring market for weapons, deployments, replenishment, planning, and reconstruction of our own stockpiles.

And then who ever has an incentive to announce that the cycle can stop? If every strike is automatically a “100% victory,” while simultaneously proving another strike will eventually be necessary, you’ve created a definition of victory that can justify itself forever. Success means we have to do it again later. Failure presumably means we have to do it again sooner. Either way, the answer is more war.

Perpetual war made self-justifying by defining every round of it as a success is pure Strangelovian thinking.

’m not bashing on him but seriously help me understand.
One minute the Iran navy is gone.
Next all the top Iranian leaders have been wiped out.
Next THE WAR IS OVER! WE WON!
Next the United States controls Hormuz and we may start charging fees for use.
Next Trump isn’t dealing with Iran anymore because they’re nuts.
Next we are very close to an agreement for the twentieth time.
Now Iran completely controls the Strait and Iran tells Trump ‘frick you’ we’re not dealing with you anymore and we’ll just wait until you leave office.
What in the flying frick is going on here?

I think a couple of things are going on:

1. I do think Trump likely overestimated his chances of success. This is what Trump does. He did it with DOGE, he did it with purging illegals, with proving election fraud and putting people in prison, he does it all the time in fact.

2. Trump understands the culture of dictatorial leaders. Iran, Kim Jung Un, Putin, etc. What he understands about them is that they all understand that what you say means bupkis. It's what you do that matters. He'll say anything. It's why he told y'all No New Wars (and some of y'all believed it, because our culture is different. In America, what you say is what matters. Nobody really cares what you actually do.)

So he's doing exactly what they're doing. Just spouting propaganda. Notice that they say the same stuff he does, just from the other side of the table.

For the millionth time, these people in those regions only understand one thing, bloodshed. That’s it.

Play for souls or don’t play at all.

What's so hard to figure out? Trump wants certain things. Iran doesn't want to give them up. Trump wants to accomplish it without an invasion, so the options are limited.

Trump's trying to thread the needle by not killing Iranian citizens or US soldiers while simultaneously keeping the stock market and international economy from falling and bitchy Americans from crying.

Iran knows America is full of pussies who have mental breakdowns when gas increases. They know Americans are soft and entitled and can't handle even a couple weeks of uncomfortability.

They know many Americans hate Trump more than terrorists. They know that even conservatives are fickle and emotional thinkers.

I'm not sure why so many people think it should be a straight line between our objectives and the end results. I'm not sure why so many fail to understand that war is dirty and nothing ever happens exactly as you want it to.

It's really not hard to figure out what's going on. It's harder for me to understand why so many are struggling with it so much.

I think you guys will understand once you figure out how to control your emotions.

Many supporters are struggling with it so much because they listen to what Trump says, and believe it.
