'Helen' actor defends Odyssey Race-Swapping of 'Myth' While Praising Black Panther.

Hope that it's OK to point out hypocrisy. Lupita Nyongo', aka Helen of Troy, was all about praising the cultural value of creating a fictional language and history for the made up nation of Wakanda. Which is all well and good, but when it comes to keeping true to the essence that is a historic Greek tale like The Odyssey, she's defending turning the 'myth' into being representative of THE WORLD.
So, made up fake Wakanda is ok to showcase real African culture but the very real Greek people and country tales need to be 'modernized'.
Sounds eerily similar to what Rings of Powers actress Sophia Nomvete said about there needing to be a 'necessary redress of balance' regarding making a Tolkien story (which he never wrote, btw) reflect what's laughably called the 'modern audience'.
Anyone sensing a trend here? Yes, black actresses being put into roles clearly written for white characters and feeling the need to lecture anyone who dares to speak up.
And the worst part of all this, they didn't have to do any of it. They CHOSE to be this confrontational.

Final trailer for Odyssey is now Christopher Nolan's most disliked movie.
This movie will make money, but there may be a statement preparing to be made about 'wokeism'.

Yeah, but will it make 20% of what it cost to produce it? I doubt it.

This is exhausting!

I couldn't find it, but I saw a YT video yesterday where Chris Pratt was praising the film "Young Washington" and encouraging people to go see it. Pratt also openly talks about his Christian faith.
I despise woke-joke Hollywood, but at least there are a few exceptions to the rule like Chris Pratt.

Anyone know with a movie like this what is the expected profit margin, for it to be considered a success?

You know we all want to see someone to a film with MLK as a white transvestite. Then watch them turn into pretzels trying to justify criticism.

I'm just waiting for someone to create a quick AI of a White mlk version on the steps giving his famous speech, to go viral. All the people in the back being White too.
Though apparently the family is quite litigious, so wonder how long it will last up.

It’s amazing how much they have deemphasized Ellen Page’s role in the movie. Or is it Elliot? I’m confused.

At my age, I think I know all that I need to know about “real African culture.”
