For the record I don’t even know enough about this issue to make a material point… I just think this kind of shite is pathetic.

The way to beat dissent is by making a better point, not being a little bitch arse bitch who has to artificially silence or suppress it. Reddit vibes.

GEN George is a fantastic leader and well liked across the Army. He’s a warfighter and earned his rank through multiple combat deployments to get where he is. He was focused on transforming the Army in preparation for what we’re seeing in Ukraine much faster than the last chain of command.

GEN George is also well liked by the Army Secretary and personal relationships were likely a key contributor to his firing.

Do you understand military officer rank year limits? A 4-star gets 40 years of commissioned service time.

It typically takes 30 years to get 2 stars. They can move fast afterwards due to political appointments but the average multi-star general retires with 34-35 years of service.

I don't care why he was fired, if he was a Biden hold over he should have been fired day 1 like all the rest, what you think Obama did

It is baffling to me how little people know about the military yet opine. At 30 years a fast tracker is just getting to major general (2 star), and if they get a command (unlikely to be immediately) they will usually get a division. Do you really want officers to be 30 and out and have all your corps and armies (field, group, region) commanded by a brigadier general? That second star is going to be pinned when they are in their early 50s usually this is when most careers are just getting to the upper levels of their capabilities. Officers have been in multiple schools and constant OJT to master their current position and begin to build the skills for the next. It certainly takes most of 30 years to have the skills command a division, especially when you have to have all the commands along the way. It is possible someone could be fast tracked to those skills but they would have to skip commands along the way and those stops as a platoon leader, company/battalion,brigade level are extremely important to a general. You could also fast track people for staff and other specialized positions but they will miss out on the command experience.

It’s amazing. A guy who doesn’t know who he is becomes president. Afghanistan withdraw has people falling off of planes dying.

One president fires people another is mentally not capable of doing so even though the withdraw was a disaster. However, you are good with that to avoid chaos.

What a freaking puss. The biggest scandal in US history is who was really president during Biden’s term. The entire world saw it.

Wonder what this was about?

Telegraph reports that the Army Chief of Staff was committed to DEI over merit.

He was trying to soft roll implementation of the return to merit based promotion.

The timing is a little suspicious and a couple of other guys were let go, too, but I think one was a chaplain.

I have no issue with firing or replacing generals. They serve at the pleasure of the President and many Presidents have fired and replaced them.

I would have fired every Biden appointee.

Maybe this guy dropped the ball on Iran. Or maybe he wasn't a team player. But the Telegraph is reporting that he was committed to running the military under Biden policies, including DEI.

I get liberals saying this BECAUSE he has become one of the BEST parts of Trump’s administration.

He tossed the woke out on its head. He began ramping up everything including taking action to make us a kick-arse, bad-arse, no-fricks-given military again.

In my view, the dude has been a shining star so far.

Why is he an idiot? Be specific.

And what are your qualifications for making this determination?

Why does the head Army Chaplain have more ribbons/awards on his uniform than Eisenhower?

I am not going to judge his service without seeing his record. He may have been special forces, etc. before finding his calling and commissioning.

But all through the Cold War the head chaplain was a 1-Star. This gave them sufficient authority over the Colonels (equivalent to Bishops in the Christian Catholic Church). A 2-star means there’s at least 2 one star generals below him, which equates to more bureaucracy and therefore inflated salaries.
