If tweet fails to load, click here. Interesting to wonder what the founding fathers would think of this.

I can state quite confidently that they would not be fans. However, at the time of the Constitutional Convention the country was 99% Christian.

What do you think this means and what are you fearful of here?
Personally, I have no idea. They've always had military chaplains. Is this just a different way of overseeing them?
Explain to me why I should be spooked by this.

Yep. There was no need when everybody was unified on the same page.
Religious war is a serious National Security issue. Pick up a history book and predict the future.

They would certainly understand the need for strength and forgiveness that can only be found in prayer.
Of course the psychiatrist will say, "Here's a pill."

Think they'll get forgiven for blowing up elementary schools?

So you think it comes from a pill.

This is what I'd focus on instead of Iran

Welp, this is one idea that won't be rolled back when a Dem admin is in power. In fact, it's gonna expand bigly.

They would hate it.
It goes directly against separation of Church and State.

It's hard to win a geopolitical advantage and domestic policy tug-of-war when there are multiple teams pulling on the same rope simultaneously and in different directions.....no cohesion and no common goals. The CCP doesn't really have this issue to impede their ambitions.

Neither does NK.

I can quite confidently state it would be mixed among the group.
I think Samuel Adams would disagree (he was the one to propose the First Continental Congress open with a prayer, a tradition that has continued to this day).
George Washington actively managed religious affairs as the Commander In Chief. He routinely appointed chaplains, ordered soldiers to attend divine services, and accommodated religious minorities (like exempting Quakers from military service). He believed religion was indispensable for maintaining morale and morality in the military.
John Adams famously stated that the Constitution was made "only for a moral and religious people." He would likely see an Office of Religious Affairs as a practical tool to ensure the spiritual well-being and ethical grounding of troops.
On the other side of that, Thomas Jefferson famously refused to proclaim national days of prayer and fasting, believing the federal government had no authority to intermeddle in religious institutions. He would likely view a federal "Office of Religious Affairs" as a dangerous overreach of executive power.
James Madison was the primary architect of the First Amendment and as such he was exceptionally strict on this issue. In his later writings (Detached Memoranda), Madison explicitly questioned the constitutionality of government-funded military chaplains, arguing they established a dangerous precedent of the state regulating and funding religion.

Probably because he is spooked by Christians.

Well if you showed the Founding fathers this?
They would first vomit. Then understand completly.

I wonder if it will do the same as the White House Religious Liberty Commission did this year and oust anyone who is critical of Israel.

If you told them how many atheist, Jews, & Muslims we have in our population then I guarantee some of them would be surprisingly open.
Jefferson might even flip for the sole reason of combatting Islam. He hated Islam. So did his boy, Madison.
