He drove up the off ramp and was driving the wrong way into what would have been oncoming traffic (road was closed). He had to have meant to hit the protestors, hard to feel sorry for the guy he deserves the charges.

This is mostly incorrect.

That is my point. The protests and road closer was approaching 10 days. So either the roads were still closed because in interviews with the participants they mention moving street to street that night with their protests and moving the vehicles with them or they reopened them briefly that night and the protesters were having none of it. Even if closed Police aren't going to let those vehicles just sit there for 10 days.
I think you're confused. The police have been dealing with this shite every night. The interstate doesn't stay closed all day every day. WSP in fact said it has been 19 straight nights. This was one of the nights. That stretch of the interstate had been closed for a couple of hours. You can clearly see in all the videos there are no cars moving anywhere except the perps.

So my guess is they removed the barricade, placed the vehicles, and didn't put the barricade back or there wasn't a designated detour. The story that he was going the wrong way is false.
Maybe, but that seems like a lot of speculation not particularly in accord with known facts - like videos of zero other moving cars on the road.

However, the interstate was closed. AND the perp entered the road illegally.

Those protesters where also illegally on the interstate, are at fault, and need to be help accountable for that poor girls death.

I don't know about the legalities, but I certainly consider them situationally and morally sharing in the fault.

The mayor (who presumably directed the police to let this go on for 3 weeks straight) has plenty to account for also. There is blood on her hands.

However, nobody should be happy that pedestrians were rammed by a car at high speed. Last night, people on here were happy about it.

Not pedestrians. They were trespassers. There are no crosswalks on interstate highways.

Ehhhh, agree to disagree. When you're out on an interstate protesting, I'm kinda indifferent about the whole thing.

Any idea that he was specifically targeting protesters is just silly given that had he just maintained a straight line after going around the cars he would have hit a crowd of people. Some people out there watch too much Fast and Furious and think every driver is capable of amazing hairpin turns at speed

Driver deserves an award and trophy. 2 in 1 shot. Kudos to him.

I don't think he was targeting anyone. But it appears that his actions were reckless at best.

pretty sure that's completely false

That part is.

He likely drove the wrong way up the exit ramp and then did a 180 to proceed down the freeway in the proper direction.
