Sexual assault has become as meaningless as racist.

Not really.

I have always been highly dubious of "stale" allegations and claims that seem to be more after the fact regret instead if true sexual misconduct.

That's me - the only "repressed memory" I give any credence to are those involving extreme physical violence or mental torture - I can see that these memories can be repressed and then recur in response to certain stimuli.

But this kind of thing - where you just sit on it for 36 years and can only remember stuff that has no way to be corroborated - I just disregarded. And when there are ulterior motives involved, I think they should be mocked and liable for civil damages.

Noting about this 'memory' sounds legit.

The ultimate test for anyone who thinks it is = "do you think she would have done her 'civic duty' and brought this thing forward to stymie Merrick Garland - even if he actually DID sexually abuse you 36 years ago?"

Less, unfortunately. We see too much of this, particularly after the Duke lacrosse and UVA fiascoes.

If you've been raped or assaulted, I don't think it's unreasonable to allow a 4 year limitation on making the report to the police. That gives people who are truly in a bad situation a chance to rectify that situation, graduate from school, get a new job, whatever, before making the complaint.

However, anyone in this situation should seek the care of a SANE nurse in an emergency department THE DAY that the assault happens so that an accurate record of events can be established and evidence collected.

I'm even willing to make rape a capital offense under these terms: if, when all appeals are said and done that there is no conflict in verdicts (one party consistently loses) then that party is hung from a tall tree by a short rope till dead. IF it's the man who is convicted, so be it. If it's the woman for bringing false charges, so be it. High stakes like that would clear a lot of this garbage up.

10+ years? 20+ years? 30+ years?

Go to hell.

My 80 year old Mother just pointed out exactly how selective and perceptive Judge Kavanaugh is:

He somehow only sexually assaults Liberal Progressive Activist Democrat teens and young adults.

Not one Conservative Republican female of any age has been sexually attacked by the Judge.

I can honestly say that if I were ever selected to be on a jury, I would be highly suspect of claims made without physical evidence

That’s a change for you?

I’m very skeptical of these claims now.

If this is allowed to block the nomination, they'll be pulling this shite every week. Therefore, I will be far less likely to believe them.

Horribly unfortunately, but the left has chosen to turn "rapist" into "racist" - i.e it will be used to describe everyone with whom they disagree.

I'm not sure if you know this but generally speaking women don't have almost any evidence when this stuff happens because there isn't any left behind. It's not really that difficult to understand

There are other types of evidence. So yes.

Lack of any physical evidence is now reasonable doubt to me.

they way they stand in lock step decrying she was violated simply because she said so, i wouldnt believe a woman now if she said it was daytime if the sun was shining

they have removed any credibility or presumption they should be given any benefit of doubt

My opinions on “sexual assault”, which is worse than murder now if you didn’t know, are along the lines of Camille Paglia’s thinking.

For people who claim to stand up for the oppressed you sure do love convicting people, be it in court or public opinion, without any evidence. Who do you think bears the brunt of these false claims? It's African Americans, Hispanics and poor whites. But this is the end result of identity politics: situational credibility based on the victim hierarchy. You are insane.

I'm not sure if you know this, butbmost vuctims can pinpoint a timeand place, furtgermire, when mist victims identufy corroborating witnesses, esoecially a dear friend or family member, tgey typically do not have ALL of them saying they hhave no,idea what they are talking about

so there's that...
