the media got weary of this and too many cuts for activist judges to chase them all down & stop them?
seems like the quieter this gets, the better. rather them continue their work in silence & just keep gutting the billions and billions of grift.

I don't think they are cutting.
It's just identifying and recommending.

They are working behind the scenes on some pretty massive and devastating stuff for democrats.
It’s clear that Trump has told his team to shut the frick up giving out hints and details about shite they are working on.
I noticed this change about two weeks ago.
Trump does not want his enemies to sniff a single clue about what they are working on.
Before, it was the wild Wild West with Trump’s team going onto mainstream media, social media and podcasts spilling the beans about what all they are working on. It reminded me of Nick Saban sending Les Miles his playbook weeks before the game. It made no sense to me as to why they kept telling people their moves.
The more silent they are about what’s coming up.. the more panicked and desperate the democrats act.

Yes, especially Johnson and Thune, there won't be one dollar cut from the budget.

Not I. They’ve cost me some money…or at least influenced someone to cost me some money. LOL

Correct. The cuts will go in the next budget for Sept/Oct. We’re also not adding to the damage

not me.....the can of worms is open, and that is a great start!

Do you remember a month or so ago when Musk and Rubio had their little spat and Trump made an announcement that things were going to change a bit with DOGE and how they do things: using a scalpel instead if a chainsaw, biweekly meetings to go over what they are addressing, etc.? Well, keeping a lower profile was clearly part of that.

They definitely cut dei programs per Trump’s EO.
quote:
• Terminated 85 DEI contracts worth approximately $1 billion across over 10 agencies, including contracts for “DEIA program and project support” at the Department of Transportation (DoT) and Department of Homeland Security (DHS).
• Canceled a $1.6 million DEI contract for “strategies for implementing ‘social emotional’ learning.”
• Eliminated three DEI training grants at the Department of Education, including one tied to a “Decolonizing the Curriculum” workshop, saving $15 million.
• Trump’s executive order on January 20, 2025, terminated all federal roles, offices, and programs related to DEI, with DOGE announcing 104 DEI contract terminations by January 31, 2025.

Cnsulting contracts
quote:
• DOGE has focused on canceling consulting contracts deemed wasteful or non-essential.
• Examples:
• Canceled 12 consulting contracts at the General Services Administration (GSA) and Department of Education, saving ~$30 million, including a $23 million work order for “digital modernization Program Management Office support.”
• Terminated 58 contracts worth over $150 million, including media and consulting categories, such as $405,000 at DHS for “resilience, energy, and sustainability management program support services.”
• Axed 36 contracts across six agencies, saving $165 million.
• Canceled a $4.6 million Department of Education contract to coordinate Zoom and in-person meetings and a $3 million contract to write a report that showed prior reports were underutilized.

Incorrect. They are cutting in real time. They can’t cut the budget, but they are cutting expenditures. So money that was budgeted is instead going to reduce the deficit. The people that DOGE had fired are not being paid. That is expenditures cut. The leases terminated are cuts. Etc.

Not for nothing, but that GIF from the Great British Bake-Off should not be dismissed. Very underrated show.

Foreign aid
quote:
• DOGE has targeted foreign assistance programs, particularly those with expired congressional authorizations.
• Examples:
• Canceled a $45 million scholarship program for students in Burma.
• Terminated $6.5 billion in contracts at the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), the largest single agency cut reported, including grants for foreign assistance.
• Canceled a $69 million contract for the Eurasia Foundation for “digital transformation activity” in Europe and a $32 million contract to Internews for programs like “media enabling democracy, inclusion, and accountability.”
• Terminated 3,489 grants worth ~$10 billion, with many cuts attributed to foreign assistance programs.

I guess that depends on whether or not aa judge ordered them to spend it.

Are they going to give DOGE credit for Department of Education cuts when the goal is to completely gut the DoE (either by EO or actual Congressional action)?

I think it was a good idea and they are trying, but at the end of the day it’s not going to make a big difference.
They will end up hiring people for most of the jobs that were cut or outsource the jobs.
