Other stuff
quote:
• Food and Agriculture: • Terminated 239 contracts worth $1.7 billion, including a “Queer Farmers ‘Food Justice’ Program.” • Targeted Department of Agriculture programs, including the U.S. Forest Service, though specific cuts were not detailed.
• Social Security and Veterans’ Services:
• While DOGE has not explicitly cut Social Security or veterans’ health care, its focus on expired programs (e.g., the Veterans’ Health Care Eligibility Act, $119 billion in 2024) has raised concerns about potential future cuts.
• Other:
• Canceled a $143,000 DoT contract, though details were not specified.
• Terminated contracts at the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and Education Department worth over $900 million combined.
• Targeted programs like Head Start, NASA, and NOAA, which have expired authorizations.

I think all of you are correct:
-We may get an actual budget for the first time in years in the fall
-Some things are cut as they go, and many things will show savings even if budgeted like the reduction in theft of medicaid and care by the states (Im looking at you newsom and he should be charged under rico)
Lastly, I am certain they have come across some really nasty trails of cash to many politicians, wonder if that is used to keep the dems in line during budget talks, and then explodes before midterms.

lol they’re not cutting shite.
They said 2T, then 1T, now they HOPE to cut 150B and only have receipts for about 60. 6% is what we got.
Nobody is talking about them because they fell wildly short and failed spectacularly of meeting their own stated goals. Keeping their heads down is probably a good idea.
Also, Elon is pretty much leaving doge next month (which I called correctly on here) according to the latest Tesla earnings call. What does that mean for doge? Hard to say but it’s probably not great.

So your side's wailing and crying was typical overreaction and propaganda?

Hopefully. But at this point we don’t know the downstream effects of these cuts, we assume no external costs but that’s probably a little generous. It’ll be awhile before we know either way.
But at the same time they’re rightfully dunking on the Elon/doge stans who could not look like bigger clowns. 7T annual budget, doge HOPES cut 2%, very likely will be less. Woof.

You did not call it.
He only had 130 days as a special government employee.
You sound like an uninformed idiot.

You REALLY don’t think they could bring him back w some other title/job but in effectively the same capacity???
Oooh buddy….

Well it went from fixing the deficit to barely scratching the surface from an expectation standpoint. They've definitely been told to shut up and message it different though. It was a pretty bad look to have Elon on stage celebrating the layoffs with a chainsaw...

Yup.
We binge it as soon as we can, then we are stuck for another year.
I started doing “handshakes” around the company for good work. It didn’t take.

I want to believe this is all part of the plan. A Shock and Aww which causes the opposition to run in circles fighting battles the American people don’t support then shifting to another, rinse and repeat.
The end result will be a long list of things the Democrats supported that Americans hate. This is a 1 year endeavor where the average American will vote Republican in the midterm election even if they don’t support 1/2 of what the Republicans want simply because the Democrats have supported 80% of the things they hate.
Middle age voters don’t change parties often, but the Republicans are killing it with young people right now and will continue to.

Didn't it come out that the expected cuts were only like 150b over a couple of years?

But I just went to the Doge tracker site, and right now it states they've saved $160 billion, and right below that, it says "8.00% of $2T goal"
