I doubt very much that was a month supply. She probably got it from a food pantry and that was intended to be a few days supply. Come back in a few days kind of arrangement.

She said she didn't get her food stamps this month, and this is what they gave me to feed her family.
The implication is that what was GIVEN was to last the month. That's on her for exaggerating the situation and not making it clear to everyone. She knew what she was doing.

Whatever happened to the commodities trucks that brought around the gov't cheese and dry beans and butter, etc?
They need to start back up with that and get rid of all the ready made foods.
Some of those grifters who loaf around all day can put in some work right there.
