Yea, I was surprised to see that low number. Just not sure of its accuracy

I have a similar story. I own a S&W 38 ( not a 38 special) made in 1897. It passed to me from my father, to him from my grandfather and to my grandfather from his uncle. It isn’t in any database outside of S&W. I also have over 500 rounds for it and shoot it at least once a year.

As do I. I have a first model 32 hand ejector. While not a very powerful caliber it's very accurate and a joy to shoot.

No way Louisiana is at 53%.
I would guess somewhere between 60-70%

I read a couple of years ago that Calcasieu and Cameron parishes had some of the highest per capita gun ownership in the nation.

Nah you can corner a lot of the masses with less effort & guns, back them up as there is no need to waste flanking them as the coastline allows funneling. Pushing them in the swamps would do fine

Texas under 50 percent is shocking

Same with Georgia but we do have a lot of boat accidents here

Is it a legal weapon? … Registeredit unregistered?

If you are talking legal guns maybe so but you add those illegal guns held by the urban future doctoral students you may realize much higher rates

Yep, only in Texas does your dad give you an updated copy of his will along with a detailed map of where he has all of his guns placed around the house for access. I had to laugh when I looked at it - kitchen, dining room cabinet, etc.

I don’t think they count the guys that acquired them illegally.

Also these high population states with the lower % of gun owners probably still have more gun owners than a Montana.

It’s like California is a blue state, but more Republicans live in California than entire red state populations.

This list is a joke

Louisiana would be higher if you count all the felons that own guns

Which is all of them

The thing about the US and gun ownership statistics is that those are just legal guns.

How do they even come up with this?

I don't have any registered guns, but I have a lot of guns.

Is this based on actual data or surveys?

My investment advisor would calls those "significantly below average" numbers. In reality it's much higher.

I know many people who have been handed guns by their Dads and Granddads. I've seen a few that are so old they don't have serial numbers.
They still shoot great though!

Explain to me what "gun" registry that they got these numbers from? IMO these stats are BS.

Not good news for Texas. There are many, many anti-gun closet liberals in the state.
