State Police has historically done patrols on Bourbon St and elsewhere within city limits.
Have the French Quarter and CBD turned over to jurisdiction of State Police or whatever organization this slapdash group of cops will be.

I don’t understand how the LSP is going to police N.O. and patrol the rest of the state.last I read they were 200 troopers short.

NOPD is a city agency. The state would have to rescind the municipal charter - wiping out all of city government - to force a takeover of NOPD.
I don't think NOPD will willingly accept a state takeover, which is other way to make that happen.

We're paying 21 year old kids $75K/year in the academy with a 5 year top-out (with no rank) of over $100K. Nobody's showing up to test.

Here in La. the last Governor did everything possible to reduce the number of prisoners in the state jails. That was one of his first things he did after raising our taxes.m
It’s no accident that murders have occurred in record numbers over that time frame even though the population hasn’t increased in proportion.
