This can't be real. Or at the very least taken out of context.
Democrats are dumb, but they're more coy about outright begging for tax payers.

I would think a politician who made it all the way to Governor to be a good salesman.
She’s the worst I’ve ever seen

The state of NY spends $240 billion for a population of 20 million
So $12,000 per resident.

NYC spends $141 billion ($20 billion more than the state of Florida, a state with 23 million people) for a population of 8.5 million. So $16,600 per person

So just state and local spending you are looking at $28,600 a head in NYC. Even more when you include federal spending.

Show me any context you can possibly imagine that what she said wasn't saying the quiet part out loud.

Notice how loosely she define generous here. It is downright dishonest to claim that a state can be "generous" with any of the finances that it accrues. The state doesn't produce that money, the taxpayer does. Generosity is defined as voluntary in nature while coercion implies at least some degree of force. If the state is taking funds away from others and distributing it to whomever it sees fit under the threat of the violation of breaking tax law, you've defeated the premise of generosity entirely. The entire concept of returning billionaires to New York to increase tax revenue has nothing to do with generosity of the state and everything to do with the systematic redistribution of funds to whom the government sees fit.

Asking a Democrat to lower taxes is like asking Superman to hold some kryptonite.

This is the statement of someone who honestly believes their money is the state's money.

So, a Democrat.

I think Louisiana folks would love New York since we vote against lowering taxes.

Yep. The Democrats essentially are an out of control teenager, a teen that produces nothing themeslves, that continues to take their productive dad's credit card to buy things for others and call themselves generous.

Socialism always fails. The failure is fast tracked when you can't keep productive citizens from leaving.

I have a fun little question I like to ask people in debates that are defending socialism/communism/marxism. All three systems/ideologies at their core have an fundamental claim that points to a version of altruism that is inherently in people. This altruism is "suppressed" by evil, capitalistic governance and if ever freed from the chains of said governance through an abolition of the state, people would be free to communally share and produce goods together.

My question is always, "why if the state is the supressing mechanism that prevents this inherent altruism from coming to the surface has every socialist/communist government immediately moved to install a government themselves? If socialism and communism really worked, and humans truly were altruistic in nature, why the need to install a government at all?"

Because Socialism and Communism always require force. Always.

Also, understand this about these people and their ideology. We live in a constitutional republic where people have mobility to move to other states that have differing approaches to governing their populace. If they had their way, the very policies that have forced people out of New York would be applied at a national level and there would be nowhere to run.

I think it was a few years back. Someone said one of the goals of globalization was that there would be nowhere to hide and taxes would rise across the board.

Socialist never factor in human nature. Most people are at least somewhat greedy including the so-called social justice warriors.
