I'm not sure I agree. We have seen many studies and experiments, including the Milgram and Stanford Prison experiments, the good samaritan study, the bystander effect, etc. that show humans are easily manipulated and oftentimes very self directed. I'd argue that, in the majority of cases, absent a vested interest, human nature lends itself to selfishness and not generosity.

She’s in panic mode because Mamdani is accelerating the exodus of good income earners from the state with all his new tax proposals. New York is headed for a bad financial reckoning with their biggest taxpayers fleeing and being left with a smaller tax base to fund their social programs for leeches.

I agree with that. Once you start giving handouts it's almost impossible to end them. We saw what happened in Greece when they went broke and tried to end handouts...people flooded the streets demanding blood.
Socialism is wonderful until you run out of other people's money. It won't be long when those "voters" turn on them.
