GOP senators oppose BBB

Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., who on Sunday called the bill's spending cuts "wimpy" and indicated he will not vote for a bill he said will raise the nation's debt, is telling his colleagues that if the Senate passes the House legislation without making major changes, the GOP will "wholly own" future deficits.
"The anticipated deficits per year now will be $2 trillion a year for the next two years," he said. "I think the problem for conservatives is they lose their high moral ground. These will be their deficits. These will be GOP spending bills, GOP deficits, and there is no change in the direction of the country."
He added that there is "nothing conservative" in the bill about some of the spending increases, including $300 billion for the military and border.

Who actually supports this?

I think the more people learn about the "bbb", the uglier it gets.
I'm a "line item" guy.

Good. Corrupt fricks need to vote for the DOGE cuts or go home and never return.

There are many here that support this.

We seriously need to quit kicking the can down the road. I get the adding capital to our economy but we need to also make significant cuts because adding stuff isn't free even if it's beneficial.

If this bill was introduced by Democrats, the whole board would be downvoting the shite out of it.
No DOGE cuts, increased spending, like what in the frick are we trying to accomplish here?

How is this acceptable, to anyone?

That’s what happens when people can’t think for themselves and worship a leader or movement.

Is he gonna do something besides bitch about it? Maybe get a few more senators to come in with him? Maybe verbalize what specifically needs to be cut, and show how many of his comrades intend to tow the line on that

quote:"wimpy" is the best adjective used so far by any lawmaker.

"wimpy" is spot on.
quote:Unlike Massie, I'm guessing (guess only) that Paul will do exactly that. One way or the other he will lose, but he indeed will try.

We know. They have been dissing the BBB for a while. They brag they will clean it up line by line. Ron Johnson met with Trump he is aware.
I think the media is getting off on this more than the reality of where we are at. No budget passed since 2004; and continuing resolutions cannot be eradicated right away.
The neverTrumper GOP suck arse but what are we gonna do?

No DOGE cuts, no additional cuts, kill it and go back to the drawing board. Elon said hundreds of billions could be cut and Trump agreed. Make it happen.

I think the Trump team was depending on rescissions being made after the BBB was passed. I don’t agree with that strategy because I couldn’t trust Congress to follow through with it.

Yep.
House can still send 1 line item bill at a time.
If it gets to Trump and if he had the balls, he'd send that POS back and ask them to do line item.
I'm piss'n in the wind.

And now with Putin flexing on Trump, this term could be worse than term 1.
