Ridiculous, plenty of poor white trump supporters benefit from this deduction. That's the reason they put it back.

Most of the non college educated trump voters are not poor. They would be middle class blue collar workers

How about you just go to work, pay your taxes like a good citizen and worry about you and yours like we do.
So just shut up and pay up? The poor need to see an increase in taxes. They don't pay their "fair share."

They need "skin in the game" so in the future, when these cuts are due to sunset, they will give a shite about tax policy.

The Best in this entire thread was from HEADlIGHANDIT.

Whyon earth do some of you think that living the life of the 30k earner is some kind of good life? Because you get a tax break (a bit) and have some government assistance (a bit) with life?

You will probably be living in an extremely dangerous neighborhood. Okay let me take that back, there are tons of poors in rural America like where I visit (the Catskills) but they are living in areas where if things are not dangerous, they are totally decrepit. Brown water from the faucet life.

Your schools will suck. You will have no-one near you being a role model because Uncle Larry is in Sing-Sing, Aunt Mary is dying of Heroin, your older brother has not been seen in years and your sister does porn.

Why do some of you have this image that the life of the American poor is on the beach in Miami sipping cocktails?

And I am sorry, I have read all the stories about the Lexus driving lady buying food with food stamps. There is something else going on there in that situation, drug dealing or something. And eventually that will end with Angola. Might take a year or two or three but that is the end.

So it reduces the amount the poorest Americans pay into one of the true safety nets, reducing what they are eligible for on retirement? Would it likewise reduce the max payout eligibility if you ever had kids and took the credit?

Republicans as dead set on killing Social Security. Wonder how this squares with Trump's campaign promise.

I'd guess you missed his point.
The reason the War on Poverty HAS NEVER WORKED is that it deemphasizes, and even punishes, responsible behavior. As responsible behavior is the single most important variable in breaking bonds of intergenerational poverty, its deemphasis delivers horrid results.

I believe HeadLightBanDit was making a similar observation concerning this bill.

You typed a lot of hyperbole, but let me break it down for you. It may not be the “good life,” but it is absolutely the lazy life. It may be hard to break the cycle and get out of that life, but it is possible and requires only hard work and perseverance. There are multitudes of govt programs, educational opportunities, etc. available if only people in those situations would put forth the effort. But they don’t, because it’s hard or different or whatever.

The rest of us should not have to subsidize laziness and an overall drag on society. You’ll never get it because you’re okay with the laziness, even though it benefits neither the person nor society at large.

The ad I have been getting on the side here has been about how I could get 2600 a month in "disability" benefits.

Free money!

Big arch conservative site this is I tell you. I have never searched anything about that.

It is also life often based on income levels which comprise median household income in many European Countries.

And travesty of Flint Michigan aside, the "brown water" statement is just stupid.

The bill is designed to give the wealthy tax breaks.

Why would you think it does anything else?

Well, since they are the ones that pay most of the taxes, should they not get most of the breaks?
