Yes and No. There are actually 4 other Dems garnering roughly 1 point (If he comes within one, the Dems would be furious). If he keeps his high 40's number in the runoff, that is a dogfight. Does every GOP switch to Handel? idk. But Ossoff would have far less to corral in terms of the runoff. With so much press, he already has the cash to go the distance.

It's squarely within the ridiculous 8.5 MOE.

I had to look up who was running against Ossoff. I guess they're waiting until the runoff to put money behind a candidate
Democrats didn't waste time and already circled around Osoff while not giving one single shite about neutrality towards other democrats.
Republicans nearly lost this race because they didn't do the same. That's what makes jungle primaries so dangerous.

Good one. Should have been in ALL CAPS, though.

You clearly don't know who Karen Handel is.
It's easier to vote nebulously against a Democrat, it's much harder to vote for a horrible bitch.
But Democrats don't have the same problem - they're already voting for Ossoff.

Kinda nailed it
Seemingly like a good guess.
Looks like all the money the GOP poured in - or maybe other factors - drew out a bit more enthusiasm on the Republican side then had been the case in Kansas. 48-49% is still on the high end of the projections, but for a bit it seemed like it could broke past that. Less likely now.
Democrats seem like they are showing up in even higher numbers then Kansas, but Republicans are too. Whereas early in-person vote returns seemed to suggest that wasn't the case for Republicans. That might have been premature.....Though the nights not over.
...It would be helpful if the NYtimes updated their map like they did Kansas so people - even their 'experts' - could better visualize where the votes are still missing from.

Back up to 51.0% If he finishes in the high 40's that's about 7 or 8 points higher than expected. He will win the runoff.

I know. It's very frustrating.

Toddy, it is kinda suckish that a rainstorm in dekalb county likely caused this runoff.
Bad luck.
Anyway, tonight was a good night for tom perez. He has had two good showings as dnc chair.
