Soros told Semafor that he did not contribute any money to Bragg’s campaign to become district attorney and does not know him. His response came as several members of the GOP have denounced Bragg as being backed and funded by Soros.
“I think some on the right would rather focus on far-fetched conspiracy theories than on the serious charges against the former president,” Soros said.
He has contributed hundreds of thousands of dollars to Color of Change PAC, which endorsed Bragg and spent money to help his candidacy.

No, his outfit threw 500,000 at him. He directs the PAC in terms of his vision and the sort of stuff he would like to see and throws 50 million into it or more. Then he leaves it alone and has the functionaries find and vett the "right" people.

He doesn't have to know him personally. If Soros was given a file of potential candidates that fit what he was looking for, then that's all he needed in order to throw money at him to help him win.

His ideology is the foundation of the groups he funds. The groups fund countless politicians all over the world and his ideology is the litmus test when selecting politicians to fund. If they agree with his ideology and can help promote it, they get funding.
