Well, I mean, Bush was in charge at the time. His buddy Powell lied to Congress to get us involved in a war that was under false pretense. As much as I love Pompeo, even he said that when The Hague wanted to try Bush and company for what they did and try them as war criminals, he would not capitulate. I have no problem regardless of party that those responsible for the deaths of others be charged for their crimes. It is not unamerican to have anyone charged for crimes against humanity. It is best to rip the bandaid and set the us on a new path. I found it odd that Pompeo was very adamant against this path. Remember too that the British were involved as well. Try them all. All levers of power that were the veritable executioner’s axe on our brethren and the poor Iraqis who regardless of living under tyrannical rule suffered unfathomable loss due to our involvement. It is clear that their country was not involved in the slightest as a proxy war was set upon them under the guise of patriotism when it really was a war for cheese.
Iraq for sale is a great documentary that gets to the heart of this greed motivated action. Major corporations and Halliburton saw Iraq as a giant money making scheme.
