Two of those administrations hated fossil fuels and implemented policies to make gas more expensive other than that it’s exactly the same but you will learn the hard way like other “moderates”

It was an equivalent $1.25 in Louisiana in 1979 as the US was still dealing with the oil embargo. In 2026 dollars that's $5.18 a gallon for regular. Right now, it's $3.69, so gas, today, is still 40% less than that high in 1979.
