It's very clear now this was a 'testing the waters' nomination. If Trump were serious about it, he'd be talking nonstop about Gaetz but he hasn't. He's barely said two words about him since the announcement. Seems like he wanted to either see how far he could push before rebellion, who the potential roadblocks will be, and make his other picks seem better

That’s the deal with Schumer over the judicial nominations along with Trump getting all of his other nominations confirmed. Not usually a 5D chess guy, but this sounds like he could’ve been nominated to get exactly these concessions. Especially when you have people like Ken Paxton out there.

Both parties in Congress hate him because he tried to take away their license to steal via their insider trading immunity. You hate him because you're told to hate him and critical thinking is a big scary concept for little men like you.

NJF had a video about this that was pretty interesting. Gaetz has some institutional power behind him, and the guy who was also involved in that story (Matt's friend) is currently doing time.
I like Gaetz and wish he been confirmed, but he may not be as pure as we thought he was. I definitely want him back in House or Senate tho
