Not at all; I've posted concerning Gaetz that we need grenade throwers and he's from a safe district so he can play that role. I think about the only negative I've ever said about him is that I don't think he's always very smart about how he goes about things, and this poll (to the extent that it's accurate) is a reflection of that.

But it's also a meaningless poll unless he's serious about running for governor.

Generally speaking, I think he's an idiot and too theatrical, but I've voted for him several times. Despite his negatives, he's had a decent record.

Weird, right?

Do you think, 100%, that FL would be deep red as it is today, and Desantis would have become governor if Trump hadn't come down the escalator in 2015?

Of course.

I don't understand the correlation.

I'd say, no. I'd say, if you are not doing this occasionally (voting for someone you think is an idiot) you either are not voting and/or not really perceptive.

I mean...of course it isn't weird.

Are you kidding? Did you hear him take on all comers off the cuff on the capital steps after he took down McCarthy?

You might like McCarthy and you might not like his politics, but the guy was calm, cool, prepared and extraordinarily well spoken.

No.

Rehearsed talking points don't impress me.

You may be reading that a tad bit wrong. It’s not 21% out of 100%. It’s 21% above the percentage of people that find him not attractive for his performance

polling at outside his district

There's a reason, and it includes trying to manipulate his constituents.

This seems the more obvious "point" of what this is likely about.

I guess each down vote will confirm Gaetz's unpopularity.

Gaetz isn't a true Rep. He is a problem for the Party imo. He just wants chaos no matter what.. Made the entire Party look like a joke when they needed to be "in-Step". His perosnal ambition distorts his vision.

He is the Right's version of a Wokeness. Extreme talkjust to anger mobs and rally the masses, but the only solution is always "Vote for me". pffft...

I wouldn't vote for him again.

Rehearsed talking points for 15 minutes responding to random reporters is by definition off the cuff.

Suggesting he knew what they were going to ask or just got lucky in having “rehearsed talking points” that just happened to overlap with the dozens of rapid fire questions they asked is laughable.

Having intelligent answers to all the questions that are asked doesn’t mean one has talking points, it means someone is knowledgeable and communicates well under stress.

You’re absolutely right, he has been a problem for the party leadership because they don’t give a damn about governing as conservatives and spend their whole time chasing payouts from lobbyists on K Street while laughing at their base.

If you support what the GOP has “accomplished” the last decade or so outside of getting some judges appointed then we have a completely different understanding of what the GOP is supposed to be doing.

The reality is the GOP is not a monolithic entity and hasn’t been going back to the tea party movement.

You have the GOPe group which includes all the leadership and the MAGA group vying for control against each other as much as they are with the DNC.

Neither entity by itself could compete nationally but as a tenuous coalition they are able to at least present a non woke/progressive alternative to the Democrats.

The dude basically ran a press conference. You can slobber over that if you want. I'll pass.

Maybe they’re tired of him not doing anything other than showing no ability to govern?

Did anyone actually believe he was for congressional term limits?
