Hadn't seen anything posted about this. Evidently there was 65 million pounds of frozen meat that will all be spoiled now. Sounds like an absolute nightmare.

Probably shouldn’t put so much in one place.

They bring up a point in the video that it might have been better to just let everything burn. The rotting meat is now a bigger problem than the fire.

EAD Meats?

Has to be owned by a TD member. Although, it would have been more fitting to name it EABOD Meats.

Vegans had something to do with it. Bank on it.

I had a gig where 9 million pounds of chicken got ammonia contamination in a dock warehouse. The chicken was probably actually fine considering the packaging but it all ended up in a landfill.

There had been an epidemic of building fires in the LA area lately.

Sad that you have to say that. But post-Obama, it’s a reality.

I wonder how many ticks were burned. Silver linings.

Too bad it wasn't in WACO. Could used "what a cook out" again.

I thought Los Angeleans were all limp wristed vegans. Why all of the meat?

When this was happening live, they said much of the nation's meat supply was in that warehouse.

Good thing I have 5 freezers full of deer meat, ground beef but a bunch of veggies too. Why would anyone put all of their eggs in one basket, so to speak? That's like put all of your money on ENRON stock.

Maybe dumb question. Can they process into something like dog food?

Not mine, I buy my meat from a local producer. 100% pasture raised and grass fed works really well for me.

This brings up another suspicious fire in that area a few months ago-- a Kimberly-Clark storage repository, covering several city blocks, caught fire and burned to the ground, destroying millions of packages of precious toilet paper

65 million pounds???

1700 semis to haul it off??

Looks like another yuge price spike and shortages on the way.

Wouldn't be surprised if this was intentional sabotage.

Here is a LA local story:

quote:

LOS ANGELES - Spoiled crab meat, beef, and pig feet are among millions of pounds of decomposing food now rotting inside and outside a burned Lineage Logistics warehouse in Boyle Heights, creating a strong odor that residents say has become unbearable as cleanup efforts continue.

crab meat
Maybe they can call Jameis Winston to help with clean up?

Then there is the rancid smell:

quote:

"The smell goes into my throat. I had vomiting, gagging," Ramirez said.

"It’s not something you want to be smelling. You don’t want to wake up in the morning and get hit with that rancid dead body smell," said Oscar, a nearby resident.

Officials warn the decaying food mass poses an ongoing public health concern. The Los Angeles County Department of Public Health says the remaining material could generate nuisance odors, attract pests, and create conditions consistent with potential biohazard concerns if not properly contained.

The storage facility burned for days and days; now it's all about the stink of rotting meat! Surpassingly evil odors are emanating from the facility, leading to mobile health clinics having to move in and offer succor to residents overcome by the foul, toxic miasmas.
