Always.. and I mean always makes me laugh when I hear someone say how racist and intolerant the U.S. is compared to other developed places. Sure. Lived overseas and traveled to over 45 countries in Europe, Africa, SE Asia and I can tell you that the U.S. is one of the most tolerant countries in the world.. if not the most tolerant.

And it basically translates to 'the darker you are, the lower you are'. Which is why lily whites like most of the poliboard will be treated as holy men in the streets, especially outside of cities.

I'm just speaking to my experience. I'm alabaster white, normally, and have bright blonde hair. I constantly had kids and the like following me around like my a-hole was dropping rupees.

We've an entire political party that thrives on promoting the myth of white privilege.
During almost every blm riot, random white people are hunted down and beat, for being white.
Several areas in our country, ya can get beat and robbed...and sometimes killed, for just being white.
I'm not saying we belong higher on that list, but we definitely have a lot of true racism.

I have no explanation for the data, I'm simply saying that people aren't as truthful on certain topics as they would be for others. I have no dog in this fight.

Fair enough.
I don’t think the data or interpretation is conclusive, but I also don’t have much patience for the pearl clutchers that constantly bemoan conditions in this country when they have zero fricking idea what life is like elsewhere. The idea that the US is some racist dystopia is laughable to the millions of people who would give their left arm to live here.

Part of it is lying, part of it is that people are greedy counts. If the United States government started confiscating property from black people and giving it to white people, I doubt many white people would complain

This isn't surprising at all for two reasons: 1. Racism to the extent where you wouldn't even want to live near someone is rare and concentrated to fairly low population areas..ie rural areas. 2. Most 'Racism' is more insidious than that and not so direct. The ability to interpret the same circumstances differently based on the race of the folks involved is the most common.
Also, Hemphead nailed it. This is more a poll of "how many people will admit to being blatantly racist" by country. Speaks more to how culturally acceptable racism is in that place than anything else. It's widely known to be condemnable behavior which is why even racists won't admit to it. Hell, there's a poster here (a respected one) who I got to admit that he doesn't rent to black people at his properties. This person absolutely does not consider himself racist and is highly insulted at any suggestion that he is.

Since India started to liberalize its economy in the early 90s, the caste system has become less rigid. Folks from the dalit class have gone on to become wealthy. If these trends continue, the caste system will cease to exist in a century or so.
